Himedia Q5, Problems reading mkv container settings
« on: January 24, 2016, 04:36:54 PM »
Hi all

this is my first post here  so if anyone has mentioned this problem already i do apologize

I've noticed that my q5 firmware version 3.03 has several problems reading the settings of mkv containers.

As most of you guys might know , mkvtoolnix offers the possibility to set a "Default track"  or "Forced Track flag .You can for example set delays if you mix video and audio of different sources together. There is in mkvtoolNix also the option, apart of setting an delay, to  strech the audio  or even use an timecode .

From what i can say  The Q5 isn't able to read any of those possible settings one can do for mkv containers .He doesn't recognize  delays, or forced/unforced subs or forced/unforced languages .He cannot read chapters as well . Any cheap WD TV live is perfectly able to read all mkv settings !

Since we all know the mkv container format is the most versatile and easiest format to work with, I'm on the opinion the q5/q10 Himedia player should be able to read and use those settings as intended

I'd be very happy if these problems would be considered in the next firmware update

best regards
