HiMedia works poorly with the Bravia XR-50x90S
« on: December 01, 2022, 01:45:00 PM »
HiMedia works poorly with the Bravia XR-50x90S and soundbar. Such a strange phenomenon. After connecting the Creative Stage V2.1 soundbar (HDMI ARC connector) and HiMdia to the TV (HDMI 4 extended) everything works OK, but after turning off (power off) HiMedia the sound switches to the TV speaker, and when I switch back to soundbar sound it is only silence. When I turn on HiMedia, the sound from the soundbar comes back. When I want to use only the TV and soundbar, I have to remove the HDMI cable from HiMedia, otherwise the soundbar is inactive.
Anyone advise something?
Bravia XR-50x90S is the same model as the Bravia XR 90K, only with worse speakers.

Try connect HiMedia with HDMI CEC Less Adapter.

Thank you very much for the advice. Everything works OK, although HiMedia cannot be controlled with the TV remote. But you can't be completely happy... :)

HiMedia support only power on/off via HDMI CEC start with OFW v2.1.7 and for interfering with (e)ARC some user is report as be fixed. I don't think you lost much with HDMI CEC Less Adapter.
Enjoy HiMedia player.

In my previous TV (Samsung MU6172) I fully operated HiMedia and soundbar with the TV remote control, of course with CEC turned on. It is probably Bravia Sync that is the source of the current problems. The HiMedia remote used to be OK, but now we're used Bluetooth remotes. Maybe there is a good replacement radio remote for HiMedia. Any suggestion?
