Dune Pro Vision 4K Solo "Purple/Pink Screen" problem.
« on: June 19, 2021, 12:47:53 PM »
Hi All,

I just bought a Dune Pro Vision 4K Solo player from Futeko.  I have a display issue with it, which hopefully is common place or at least has a simple fix.

When I first plugged it in last week, the Dune HD logo came up as all seemed well.  I immediately checked for new firmware and downloaded and installed the newest release version.  So far all well.

I left it there to do other tasks, and shut it off.  When I next rebooted the player, it booted up with a strong purple/pink hue coming through the entire screen.  This is displayed permanently no matter rebooting, powering off for 30 mins etc.  I tried playing with various settings changing the HDMI cable, all to no avail.

So I just left it on and went away for a few hours.  When I came back to it, the display was normal again!!  This has been the case for the past few days.  However, today the pink hue has returned and I can't get rid of it.

Setup:
The Dune is connected into a Denon AVR-3312 receiver, which plugs into my TV which is an older type flatscreen:  Panasonic TH-P65VT30.

I have bypassed the Denon and connected to the TV directly, this seems to work OK no hue, however as I just did this now I can't be sure of how long it will work, and besides that it's not a long term solution.

Is this just some simple setting on the Denon output?  Any help, or suggetions would be very very appreciated.

-D.

First: Try reducing the Maximum Video resolution.
Dune fires up with maximum resolution and frame-rate even being on the menu using Auto.

Second: try booting without any HDD being attached as strange as that may sound.

Third: I think to recall that a Pink screen indicates an EDID mismatch for HDR features?
An AMP in between can cause that. Having an HDMI 1.4a restricted AMP it is even very likely. Using Dual HDMI Output should solve that nicely having a Pro Vision.
