Using HDD as default storage
« on: April 12, 2020, 08:48:54 AM »
Hello!

So there came up a new demand with the Q5 Pro to have the USB attached HDD used as the "Default storage", that preferably would mean that it will be automatically used for downloads instead of the internal stock flash memory. The "Default storage" option in the Settings->More menu have been set to the HDD already, but tying downloads give a message that "There's not enough space", tho' for real there's plenty of course.

What is the trick here, how to get this workaround properly?

Thanks!

Have you tried to change the download folder in the app you're using to download?

It's basically a question from a member on another forum, i'm just curious and trying to help him. I guess he didn't tried that, so that's next.
Hes problem is more like he cannot download anything neither to the internal storage, tho' he states that he has still have free space available. Does this symptom sound familiar to someone?

And so comes another question (tho' I can sense the answer is no): can the HDD be used to also install apps directly on to it? I've found the SD card storage expansion thread, but there have been stated it only woks with SD cards. So no change in that i guess?
