Alternate Android Media Player with Audio Passthrough
« on: April 01, 2020, 03:53:03 AM »
I did a search but it's possible I missed something.  The internal HiMedia player worked fine but I seem to have started having problems with it...especially losing network connection.  I tried VLC as an alternate and while it played movies a lot better and smoother, I haven't found any way to enable audio passthrough (the internal setting doesn't work) for DD/AC3, DTS/AAC, etc. and that is a showstopper.  I'm not sure if MX Player would work...and how to configure it. Has anyone found a simple media player that would work well on the Q10 Pro that allows audio passthrough over HDMI?

Kodi is an option but the interface is clunky...and I don't know how to access my SMB network share from it.  I'm open to any links on how to set up Kodi for simplicity.
