First Impressions
« on: December 27, 2015, 11:58:24 AM »
Hi All,

I have now had by shiny new box for a couple of days and am generally very pleased - I thought I'd share my first impression (with a request for advice at the end!)

From the limited time I've had to play to-date, I've noticed the following:
  • The box found my networked hard drives without a problem
  • I have experienced no obvious HD-Audio sync issues (although, I haven't yet played anything for more than a few minutes)
  • Dolby ATMOS files appear to be playing through my amp without issue
  • No picture issues experienced... however....

I am experiencing one very annoying issue; I am getting audio sync issues with all my SD files (iso and mkv).  These all play fine on my old media box and they also play fine through Kodi on my iMac.  If anyone has advice (or a fix) for this, I will be very grateful!!

Kevin

Now I've had a bit more of a play, I can add a bit more context. I am using audio pass through via hdmi, and experience delay of c.250ms for files with non-hd audio (iso and mkv files), whereas the films with hd audio that I've tried are pretty much spot on. Is there a setting I have got wrong, or is there a way to alter the audio delay depending on the audio type present (I don't want to have to adjust the delay in each video when I go into it). When removing passthrough, there doesn't appear to be any audio sync issue.

Any help would be appreciated.

K
