HImedia Q10 NO ZOOM OPTION? Full screen does nothing.
« on: December 03, 2015, 10:45:24 PM »
Coming from the old 900b player on original firmware. Could someone explain to me why there is no zoom option like the 900b player. Where you could play a 2:35 aspect ratio and hit zoom and it would keep the aspect ratio but fill the screen? This has been removed? This is great for 3D to fill my 90 inch LED.

Finally, with my 3tb internal filled with 3D iso's that don't play in Kodi only under LAN. Explain to me why I am getting video clipping on 3D iso's? Everything works perfect in my 5 year old 900b, but the only reason I upgraded was for Android, and the addition of better streaming with cat6e for HD 24bit audio codecs.

Full screen stretches the image to fill the screen, as you'd expect. It does not 'do nothing'.

Nothing has been removed, Q10 is a completely different product to 900B. Zoom as you describe is not supported using Himediaplayer (Android player and wrapper) on Q10. You can zoom as you describe using Kodi and native player, which will work for less demanding files. Find file in Kodi and press remote menu button. Choose play using and 'dvdplayer'. When the file is playing press OK. Choose the showreel icon (4th from right) then zoom amount.

I am sure that your 3TB drive will play in Kodi. How are you locating the drive? Look in our FAQ section for an explanation of drive locations in Android / Kodi. http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=56.0

It's difficult for me to determine why you are getting unsatisfactory performance on 3D ISOs because you don't give enough info about how you are trying to play them. Kodi should have wrapper installed for 3D ISOs. See here: http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=60.0

From another of your posts it seems you have firmware 3.0.1 installed (and if that is the case and you've just received the box you almost certainly didn't buy it from us). First thing I'd suggest is install firmware 3.0.2. Second thing is install wrapper.

Yes, I understand what the zoom function does. It still works flawlessly on my 900b. With that being said, why not just keep it as an option. I have 2 other friends that love this option. Just because the idiot directors vision is anamorphic widescreen in a 2:35 aspect ratio, doesn't mean that I can't circumvent this by zooming to filling the screen. Almost every 3D movie is in this aspect ratio, and when you zoom it changes slightly the side viewing but really creates an Imax experience on my 90 inch LED. I know many that love this option and it will help you sell many more units. Any chance they can add this on the next firmware update. I honestly think they don't make the movies in 1:85 so to force us to go out and see it in a theater. I have heard the debate a million times, but whats the point of having a large led if you going to lose 40% of the screen with black bars on top and bottom.  Trust me add this option back. The new firmware upgrade fixed my video clipping in 3D iso's. So if I watch a movie under media center the full screen option does nothing. In Kodi, I can't see any of my network HDD from upstairs computer to stream. It only see's the internal HD. Am I missing something? Nothing in Kodi for fullscreen under the "confluence settings." Thanks again for your responses.

I wasn't sure if I was clear on that last part. I cannot see any of my LAN network drives from Kodi? Is there a search option I am missing? Thanks

In Kodi to see network drives go VIDEOS - Files - Add videos - Browse - Windows Network (SMB).

That's presuming the share is Windows SMB. For the last step you can choose NFS, uPnP, and other protocols.

Yes I figured that out. So why doesn't the full screen option do anything? Also why no 3D in Kodi?

Can we get an answer on why Zoom is not available? Will it be in future firmware? Fullscreen does nothing.

Both your questions have already been answered in this thread. Please stop posting the same questions over and over.

3D works in Kodi using wrapper. This provides the best quality 3D of any Android or Kodi box.

Full screen does not 'do nothing', it stretches the image to full screen. Zoom as you descibe works in Kodi. I do not know if/when it will be available in himediaplayer/wrapper. Most probably never, it's quite a niche feature.
