I heard Kodi 17 (NOT Kodi 16) will have support for TrueHD and Dolby Digital Plus passthrough for all Android.

Has anybody heard anything about team Kodi rewriting the audio passthrough experience for a Android?

no , android M have new API for only DTS-HD passthrough so all Android APP can use it, from Kodi 17 if Soc support mediacodec(not sure) maybe have DTS-HD passthrough.

Kodi-team have promise from kodi 17 only for nvidia shield have audio HD passthrough ...maybe
