HiMedia Q10 Pro: M2TS playback issues
« on: December 02, 2018, 06:37:41 PM »
Hi everyone,

I've been going through the fairly laborious task of moving my UHD collection from Disc to Media Server, and run into serious playback issues with my HiMedia Q10 Pro. Whenever I try to play M2TS files (the Q10 Pro doesn't support UHD Blu Ray Menus), I get a scrambled image like the pictures attached. Sound plays fine. This is a problem with both KODI and the built-in media player.

I have played back most of these files without issue on my LG TV and Panasonic UHD player, so it is not a file issue, but ideally want to run everything through thge HiMedia player. I have swapped between a number of hi-speed HDMI cables (that carry HDR content from PS4 Pro to TV) and it has made no difference.

Anyone encountered this before, or know what the issue might be?

Many thanks for your help.

Other files play fine? What is the FW version?

Try to:

Rename the file extension to .mkv.
Use only the Media Center to start the video (so skip KODI).
Try it with both ON and OFF HDCP 2.2 setting found in the Settings->More menu

Also could be a setting mismatch in your TV, like with HDR / Deep Color etc...
And be sure, you connect the Player to the right HDMI port dedicated for BD/Media Players on the TV and also select the HDMI source label accordingly.
