Q5 Pro won't boot after FW update
« on: November 05, 2018, 05:12:16 PM »
Hello!

I'm writing this in the name of an  another user, who's got presumably the OFW 2.0.0 before and than tried to directly flash to the latest 2.1.0, and now he's Box is stuck at the HiMedia logo boot screen.

He's not so sure if he's got 2.0.0 previously, just presuming he did.

What's the procedure in this case to get back the system running?

Thanks!

Install 2.0.1 and go from there.

Despite my suggestion to wait for a proper answer he had tried to install a couple of more FW's, like the 1.0.5 and the 2.0.4, but no success, still locks at the boot screen.

In this case you would still suggest to try the 2.0.1?

Thanks, and also waiting for Futeko to respond something...

I need to know what was the last working firmware.

Another way to answer this question is if you could describe what you see on the TV when booting with reset button pressed.

If he really did have 2.0.0 installed (which I think unlikely - we only pre-installed it for a very short period of time) then he should try 2.0.1.

He managed to get back the 2.0.0 with a "double install".

Now he will try to go through the ->2.0.3->2.0.4-->2.0.6 route.

(User error or not, HiMedia's firmware update methods are really botched-up.) >:(
