HiMedia H8 Octa
« on: December 05, 2015, 11:07:54 AM »
Hello,

I purchased HiMedia H8 Octa recently. Is it possible to control the HiMedia from my iPhone and Android tablet without having to turn on the TV? Is there an app which allows this and how do I set it up?

Please advise.

Thanks.

At the moment, no.

Himedia have a remote app which works for their other products, but it isn't currently compatible with H8. We expect it to be added in a future firmware.

Any Kodi remote app will work to control only Kodi on H8.

There are a couple of remote type apps for Kodi that might suite, depends on what exactly you needed them to do.

Thanks for both your responses.

Is there a time frame when the feature will be added?

I have a beta here. It's possible it will be included in next firmware.

Alternatively, if anyone wants to test it please email mail@futeko.com. The app has some Chinese text at the moment, and some non-functional links, but it works.
