It sounds unlikely, but then so is you receiving two boxes from different retailers at different times (almost certainly different production runs) displaying the same unusual hardware fault..

Are you connecting to a 4K output? HDMI for 4K is more fussy than HD and the lead or connection may be failing. You might want to see if you can connect to the box from your PC next time it appears to hang.

No, It's just a FullHD TV, 1080p. Besides, on both boxes I used the brand new HDMI wire that each box was carrying.

When the box hangs I can't connect with it, because every info in the box is lost, and that includes WiFi. Once a time it hung, I was copying some files from my PC to the box, and suddenly connection was lost and the unit disappeared from the net. When I got to the box, I saw it was reseting.

Well, I've tried now about 12 times with different combinations and configurations, and the result is always the same, sooner or later.

I've tried other skins in Kodi, with almost no add-ons, apart from a scraper, Watchedlist and artwork downloader. It always resets at some point in the end.

Other times it doesn't even let me update all my database, it resets when is scraping, even just with the nfo files and downloading nothing.

I tried not downloading ES File Explorer, and still reset. Tried other Kodi versions, v17.1 and v17.4-RC1, same result. Some resets were done some seconds after rebooting, when everything seemed to be fine, so I couldn't even start Kodi that next time, so Kodi was not on. Last time I was doing some operations with the File Manager.

I don't know what more to try, besides delivering the box back. It's too much wasted time and effort, and the unit is not usable at all in this state.

Regards.

I'm a bit upset right now, because I've delivered back one unit I think was a faulty one, as it was behaving like this every 1 or 2 weeks. The thing is: the Q10 hung for no visible reason, Android logo showed briefly on the screen, the Himedia logo  rebooting ('boot' word on the front), and it took about 2-3 minutes to boot instead of the usual 15 seconds. Then everything is lost, no apps, no database (this is the worst, hours of loading Kodi lost in 3 minutes), no Wifi, no date and time,... Then repeat the cycle until next random reset. And this seems to be no dependent on the FW, nor even the Android version, as I've tried almost every official FW since 1.0.9.

I'm upset because I've bought another unit that arrived today, thinking this one should have no problem at all. Android 7, FW 2.04, Kodi 17.3. Well, all this evening to load everything, and when it was finishing loading the last part of the database, guess what... Android Circle logo, then Himedia logo, 'boot" word and 2-3 minutes rebooting, then everything is lost... Even Kodi is not the one that was loaded initially (17.3 Krypton) but 17.1. What????

Don't know if I'm the least lucky guy on earth, or there's a good number of faulty units out there. This second one was bought from you, Futeko. Any suggestions? I'm really fed up of wasting my time loading and loading for nothing.

My problem has nothing to do with periodic hangs on boot.

But i have exactly the same problem as ryderark. 2 factory resets since i updated to 2.0.4  2 weeks ago.
First time was shortly after updating to 2.0.4, with just kodi updated to 17.3 and imported kodi settings, i was testing some video files in Kodi.
2nd time was today. Started my Q10pro -> clicked on YouTube Logo (Homescreen) -> no reaction for 5 sec -> short Himedia Logo -> android circle -> Himedia Logo for ~2 min -> all Apps gone, Kodi from 17.3 to 17.1, all android and Kodi settings reset...
This problem is really frustrating, because of the time i need to set everything up agian. I use my Q10pro device for about 2-3h/week. I'm starting to think the effort needed to do this may not justify the short benefit...
