Automatic Files on HDD

I have just fitted a 3TB drive into my Q10 and I am looking for the best way to automate the moving of files.

Before I was using a NAS with Transmission so anything I had downloaded I would just load up transmission and it would download locally.

I am on a Mac on Wifi so to download something for example on here to a shared path non the Q10 means it has to download and then transfer over wifi which is quite slow.

Are there any apps such as transmission for Android so everything is done locally on the box?
