Futeko's return policy
« on: January 19, 2017, 04:44:20 PM »
I placed my order on 16 Dec and I receive it on 19 Dec.
I was hoping the next Android 7 upgrade will fix some of the bugs.
A month later:
1. subtitles are still broken with wrapper/Media Center. It works with Kodi player, but I was looking for a slightly mature product
2. accessing Samba shares from Kodi is still out in the blue - ok, I solve it by configuring NFS, but I would expect Samba to be part of basic functionality
3. unit is still unable to shut itself down using Rii remote (a brilliant remote, but dodge this!)
4.  HDMI CEC is not implemented - I mean really? Is this still an issue in 2017?
5. file management in Kodi 7 is poor. I know this is not your direct fault, but it's the product I've paid for
6. out of the box auto-framerate?

Really, apart from point 3, all the other are basic requirements that my 5yo WDTV Live fulfill!

I'm actually not happy! Unfortunately I have no idea what other product I should be looking for! Q10 Pro was looking so promising, but it's not, at least not yet.
I would keep it if at least subtitles and HDMI CEC would have a time-frame to be fixed, but not otherwise.

I'll send the same e-mail as per policy and, hopefully, 31 days later from delivery it will be accepted. But I hope I'll get receive some hope from this forum.

1. Subtitles will be fixed. That bug (or quirk because Q5/Q10 Pro behave according to spec, it's the subs that are wrong) was only submitted to HiMedia on 9-JAN, one day before the build date for 2.0.1.

2. Samba shares from Kodi shouldn't be a problem. Please explain more.

3. This is an issue. A workaround is the pcristi custom firmware and shutting down from the icon on home screen.

4. Agree.

6. Auto framerate works out of the box except for 50<>60 and DVD ISO.

Email us for return enquiries and similar. I don't think you'll find a better product, nothing is perfect.

Samba issue...TBH I'm not going to reset the box to try Samba again, with latest Android 7, I did configure it with NFS and that does the job for me.
Regarding auto frame switch. Default is coming with 1080p 60Hz. And last eveningi watched some 720p, x.264 and x.265 and it stays in 1080p 60Hz. I'm having the wrong expectations? My old wdtv was swiching HDMI resolution to 720 50Hz. Using Kodi player, as wrapper kills the subtitles so it's unusable.

Samba is dead for me as well, I reinstalled the box several time, I tried various settings, etc, couldn't figure out the problem. It just don't want to cooperate with my latest shares (old ones still working from the same server). All other device are capable to connect to these shares. And for me Kodi refuses to use NFS shares. Only thing that works for me is to mount NFS shares directly on the device. If you want I can give you a detailed instruction how you can do this (modified pcristi / Looun patch, because the original one didn't work for me either).

For the subtitles I already wrote a guide to integrate MX Player:
