Coverflow/Blu-Ray
« on: January 18, 2017, 03:28:07 PM »
Hi

New to this so sorry if the topic is answered before. I have Dune media player and are using yaDIS skin for nice navigation in my Blu-Ray movies.

I have try finding out if the Q5 have something similar to offer or if it is possible for the Q5 to read the yadIS image which lies on my Synology NAS.

Do the Q5 actual have a media scraper like the Popcorn and Dune boxes ?

PS my Q5 will be arriving me this week  :)

I would recommend using Kodi + wrapper (Himedia hardware player).

Kodi has kind of superseded the scrapers used by Dune / PopcornHour etc. It has superior media management and scraping and with HiMedia wrapper you also get HiMedia format support + PQ.

You have to rely on the default scrappers available in Kodi. I found them to be useful, once you learn how to name and store your TV series, especially. I had to switch from DVD order to air order a few times between scanning for series to have Kodi recognize all my episodes properly.

Thanks guys, this look promising can't wait to play with this.

So if using Kodi+Wrapper is there a way to autoscrape like say on startup ?

I have a lot of BDMV folders so hopefully the player can do bd-lite menus ?

HiMedia format support + PQ.
What does this mean, I understand format support but +PQ ?

So the interesting thing if it will do 45GB files streaming through a AC connected router ..  ;)

Any who know of a thread that have more info about this topic .. folder structure, naming go movies etc.

Kodi can be setup to auto update library on startup or on a schedule or watch folders. e.g. http://kodi.wiki/view/Add-on:XBMC_Library_Auto_Update http://kodi.wiki/view/Add-on:Watchdog

HiMediaplayer support BD-lite menus.

PQ is picture quality.

I think it will play the 45GB file. Much will depend on distance to router and obstructions if using AC wifi.
