No DTS choice in KODI
« on: November 12, 2016, 01:19:41 PM »
Hi,
I've installed KODI 16 and 17 (tried both) but cannot get the choice of enabling DTS in passtrough soundsetting. Any idea of  what is wrong?
If im using the Himedia player, it plays DTS.
I'm getting the choice of enabling AC3 and AC3 plus.

With a new 1.0.8 install using pre-installed Kodi 16.1 I don't have this problem. I get the DTS option.

The receiver shouldn't make any difference. Android Kodi isn't sophisticated enough to offer options based on connected hardware.

I'm pretty sure the option is there in other versions of Kodi too. Hence why you're not getting a flurry of 'me too' type replies.

Make sure 'Settings Level' in Kodi is set to 'Expert'.

Hi,

Yes, after the first post I did see that i was on FW 1.0.3.xxx
Did a FW upgrade and thought this was going to fix it, but I'm seeing the same results. Even with the pre-installed Kodi 16.1.
The settings are on Expert, otherwise I would not see the passtrough option at all.

Cannot see why only I'm getting this problem, when using a standard setup.
I will try a FW reset today and report back.

So it worked to do a factory reset of the Q10. The DTS enable option reappeared.
When i tried to install KODI 17 it disappeared.
So after another factory reset everything is ok again. Only thing is why is this happening? Am i the only one tested the KODI 17 beta 5?

Why is wrapper removed when doing a factory reset within the setting meny?
How can i remove the wrapper player from KODI?

Doing a factory reset removes some system apps that are installed on first boot after firmware install (e.g. wrapper). It's not recommended.

Please do a firmware reinstall by restore button method instead. See here: http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=1303.0

With FW 1.0.8 and Kodi 16.1 the DTS option is there for me.

With beta FW 2.0 and Kodi 17.0 Nightly (15-NOV) the DTS option is there too.

Version 2.0 Android 7 firmware official release will be a maximum of two weeks away so I don't see too much of a problem.

Sounds great with the FW 2.0. I'm not gonna do anything else until then.
Now everything works perfectly after removing the playerfactory.xml file under kodi folder.

The only issue I'm having now is that a streaming service app im using wont play cause of missing DRM probably. (it says it wont play cause device is rooted)
