On china forum they talk about online subtitles downloader for Himedia player.
It is still alpha version. Is there something like that for us,futeko?

Thanks!

Google translate:

Good news! Support online subtitles download patch release, currently in the research and development test version!

Sounds great to me. Was requested here too not so long ago and answered as not being on the roadmap. Interesting to hear what the answer is now.

Only the clumsy procedure via KODI was offered as the alternative.

1.The file just only for 3798CV200.
2.I don't know how to set up the subtitle web site?

If it works properly in testing (by Chinese users) then it will be added to international firmware. I've not tested it (and can't read Chinese properly) so can't help with settings.

The thread on HiMedia Chinese forum is here: http://bbs.himedia.cn/thread-200320-1-1.html

Glad to help testing, but my Chinese is non existing. Doing it via Google translate is not effective and will wait for an English equivalent.
But thanks for the confirmation that it will be ported when available.

In my perception this is a basic (=simple to be used) feature very useful for Media Centre. There are a lot of people around which prefer Media Centre over KODI or other players. In this case it moves this feature also to KODI Wrapper directly which may be around longer than foreseen a couple of months ago. I see the hard core KODI support community  (for Android specifically ) shrinking.

The upgrade file is a new larger HimediaVideoPlayer.apk which is an update of the same file included with Q10 PRO FIRMWARE 1.0.6-FUTEKO-EN. HMD-1.0.6 2016-07-07.151525.zip. Installing it should be pretty save as  one can run the original HimediaVideoPlayer.apk from FW 1.06 at any moment again to restore.

looun should be able to confirm this as he is far more knowledgeable than me here.

NO, kodi is the best solution.
