Himedia will continue to support Q5/Q10 4K3D as evidenced by the new firmware last week.

Link.

OK, but when the support stops? As soon as new V200 is out or atleast 6 months later?

HiMedia Q5/Q10 4K3D / Q10/5 4K3D discontinued = No more updates?
« on: January 16, 2016, 06:30:13 PM »
I just received my Q10 4K3D 2 weeks ago and i noticed that HiMedia is going to release a new Q10/5 V200 in the next few months that means that for my Q10 they will not release new updates? If it is true that's pretty sad since i've just paid a good amount of money on it recently...

Will V200 Himedia/HiSilicon support Kodi or not?

Will developers publics updates for Q10 4K3D after the v200 is out?

HiMedia Q5/Q10 4K3D / Request Feature: Audio Offset
« on: January 12, 2016, 06:23:45 PM »
OK the reason is that since Kodi isn't fully supported and doesn't seems that it will be compatible anytime soon i would like to have the audio sync feature implemented in the HiMedia Media player (wrapper).

Be able to shift audio track in "ms" like Kodi does, or even better allowing the users to set the value or just tune it to taste.

HiMedia Q5/Q10 4K3D / Re: Frame packed 3D in MKV wrapper in Q10
« on: January 12, 2016, 06:12:02 PM »
Been requested already. Futeko, any word on that list of wish-list items we sent? :)

I'll ask again later this week when Himedia are back to normal after CES. Half the sales/support staff have been (and still are) at Las Vegas CES. Difficult getting info at the moment.

I don't expect 3D frame packed MKV support to be added though. I expect it to stay as ISO only.
I noticed a bug that you should report to the tech guys. I have a TV HD wich original format is 720p ( can do also some 1080p stuff but it's not that good. The Q10 4K3D is set to 720p resolution. When i try to play 720p content from the wrapper it change resolution it goes to 1080p24 when i try switching resolution from the Box remote controller i get "720p Frame packing" and can't play content to 720p24. I tried on my main tv wich is a full HD and got the exact same problem. It doesn't play file at 720p when the box is set to 720p resolution.

Thanks!

HiMedia Q5/Q10 4K3D / Re: Largest HDD supported.
« on: January 12, 2016, 06:05:53 PM »
Need help on step by step guide how to format a 4TB Seagate HDD via Windows7 for use as internal storage on the Q10.
1) GPT disk or MBR disk
a)  MBR only recognizes 2TB but is detected by the Q10
b)  GPT can maximize 4TB but is not detected by Q10

Thank you in advance.

I have a 4 TB drive formatted in Win 7. Connect the drive and format as GUID. Then connect the HDD to the Q10 and turn it on. That's it.
What's type of HDD are you running? Give us more details about it.

HiMedia Q5/Q10 4K3D / Re: Himedia 10th Birthday
« on: January 12, 2016, 06:03:25 PM »
I would like to see a better integration with Kodi.

The wrapper solution has one big advantage, it works for all features.

Boxes based on other chipsets do not have working 3D or 7.1 audio within Kodi for instance.

The ideal situation would obviously be perfect playback with all chipset features available from within native Kodi. However, there are no products that do this outside of much more expensive HTPCs. Himedia are aware of what people want and will do the best they can to implement it.

You are right and after testing some others, the best is the Himedia player. To be continu to update to have more and more options and right also to say that the wrapper give the Himedia the opportunity to have HD Audio DTS-Master and DTS-HD sounds with 3D playing as well, So not so many Boxes have this way, So happy for all users from this Himedia Boxes ;) ;)

Dude, who cares about HD audio and 3D games when you can't shift the audio track...

We can all agree that HiMedia is in the right direction but need to refine more things. Like Bugs you guys are pointing and Kodi integration...
We all have spend a good amount of money for these boxes...

HiMedia Q5/Q10 4K3D / Re: Question - best file format for HiMedia
« on: January 10, 2016, 03:02:21 PM »
First thing, if you go with HiMedia boxes forget about Kodi, it just don't work no matter what.

Another strange situation is that if your TV is set to 720p and you wanna play 720p contenent it will switch your resolution to 1080p and then play the file as 720p50 frame packing wich is really stupid IMO. Why not just play as 720p24 since the box isalready able to 1080p24.

Besides that is an OK box, i don't know how it works with 3D stuff since my TV doesn't support 3D.
Works good with all the formats 264/265, ISO and BD ISO works fine for me.
