...would ask you to explain what you mean by… reinstall it and recreate your library with a full scan….
Google Play - manage apps - uninstall Kodi.
Google play - install Kodi.

Then run Kodi and configure it as you did previously.

A guaranteed solution to your space issue (had the same problem myself) is blow away Kodi. Uninstall it. Then reinstall and recreate your library with a full scan. Afterwards, you will probably see 2-3GB of that 12GB being used.

Best remote for the Q10 Pro is a Logitech Harmony 650. They are now dicontinued. So, find a couple before they vanish from vendor stock.

I really wish I could get another himedia Q10 have been really spoiled by it over the years.
I might be able to assist if you still have the hankering. I use a full HTPC now and my Q10 Pro gathers dust. It is also in Oz.

The drive might be able to be switched to 512e using Seagate's SeaChest utility.

There's some chatter about switching from 512e to 4Kn, such as here: https://www.truenas.com/community/threads/how-to-convert-512e-to-4kn-using-fast-format-seagate-exos-x16-drive.84094/

Maybe your drive has had that done in the past and can be switched back. I do not know, but it is worth looking into. Possibly even emailing Seagate support with model and serial numbers to ask if it can be done, and how.

The free version of EaseUS Partition Master does not provide the drive information.

Seagate's Seatools utilty does.

GPT or MBR? My Exos 16TB ST16000NM001G drives work fine, even if formatted in an external enclosure. NTFS filesystem. GPT.

Can anyone recommend one, do they even exist?
King of the external BR drives: Pioneer BDRXD07TB.

yes it can be turn off at the display setting menu
It will not turn off the power LED. That is what the tape is for.

The product (Q10 pro) is still not recognized as play certified. If that is the case then the software probably is illegal.

Such a bizarre response to a thread that had its last meaningful response three years ago and based on zero knowledge of law.

'Play Certified' is not a legal prerequisite to accessing the Play Store. I can build my own Linux distribution and access the Play Store. That distribution is not 'Play Certified' and it's definitely not illegal.

Now done. A 5600X AMD, big SSD, 1030GTX and all the 3.5" drives I want, plus hot swap bays to load content onto them (as I do not have 10Gb Ethernet).

Kodi scans are ridiculously fast. MCE type remote for Kodi was a fail. Poor response and poor command set. However, a small USB Flirc is fantastic. Excellent command set and better response than the Q10 remote. Perfect.

Not as compact or portable as the Q10 but at least it's easily upgradable and not going to run out of horsepower anytime soon. Happy camper.

I suspect that the only way you are going to be satisfied is if you go and obtain a degree in electrical engineering.

So you mean the 12 volt 2A power supply is insufficient if all the Himedia Q10 usb outlets plus the HDMI are used  ?

That is my experience.
Quote
If supposing I had a 7200 rpm drive at 6 TB and only the HDMI cable is being connected would  it still run smoothly if the drive is already above half capacity?

Yes.
Quote
How about if the 6tb 5400 rpm HDD is nearly full, would the 12V 2A power supply still suffice to run it smoothly?

Yes. How much data is stored on the drive makes no meaningful difference to how much power the drive consumes.

Quote
Do you have any idea what would be the specification for a powerful power supply that can maximize the power load of the q10 but not overloading it?

Power supplies do not overload the Q10. The Q10 only draws how much power it needs - up to the limits of its internal circuitry.

The power supply nandish and I use is perfectly acceptable and totally excessive for use with the Q10. It simply provides clean stable power as demanded by the Q10.

Further  you said that replacing the power supply  of the Q10 with 5A  sorted out the power supply problem so it can run faster than 5400 RPM speed  drives. But as I  see it  the Q10 power supply is non detachable from the unit...

A 7200rpm drive will work on the standard power supply. However, some 7200rpm drives draw more power than others. As you increase the HD capacity, the current draw usually increases slightly. However, you want a power supply that can feed the internal HD and any accessory connections (i.e. USB3) simultaneously. The standard power supply struggles when the Q10 Pro has many demands.
