@afss: right, I may be a fool watching 3D movies on my Q10 pro all these years. You can have options render subtitles in 3D, but this is only working with the wrapper/Himedia player only.
open_pli_pl: Have you tried with OFW 2.1.4? Was it the same with 2.1.1?
so i made full testing Today,
2.1.1 official and custom - no luck still flat, background movie 3D, subtitles flat
2.1.4. official nad custom - no lusck still flat
after each install of each firmware, i made test to test if it's flat; later i made factory reset from menu and made once more testing with subtitles
in each scenario always flat.
also my fried check on his himedia q5 pro - also same, always flat

For me .srt overlap subtitle still flashing(clipping) but not missing line similar to FW v2.0.6.

With CFW v2.1.0[1.3.1] srt subtitles is display like is on FW v2.0.6 not missing lines, but still clipping.

I will open this topic because I think it is a common cause and from my point of view all version from 2.0.6 until now was a step back. It is not normal to brake sometging and to move one to another "fix "
Can this Commpany have correct subs? This is a very simple question....I expect the answer to be the same.
The one I know so far, that the .srt subtitle line skipping still isn't fixed. Quite enough to ignore the update (again).
Enough reason to stay away from this update, the result of bad programming, cheap R&D and poor customer service on behalf of Himedia. Cheers for Futeko, though.
I am very very very curious if the problem of losing lines in the subtitles has been solved.
Anyone got this working already? Like a media player app or something?

Subtitles overlay is not a must to be supported by any player, of course is nice to get supported.
Subtitles maker need to respect rules of doing they job before to share on public subtitles sites.
As I know only on FW v2.0.6 subtitles overlay is supported.
