Q5/Q10 Pro Custom Firmware

A BIG THANKS to you all! It is great to have a forum like this!
It was a problem with the configuration from Windows 10 as "stl" mentioned. every time when I opened the downloaded file I didn't noticed the wrong text "update.zip.zip". However I always have "View hidden items on, but I haven't noticed the wrong text.
I did update to CFW 2.1.7 which is nice, but how do I install all the other apps like YouTube smart tv, Aptoide etc. etc.? I'm a little confused now after my 2 days experience. What is the latest and best CFW until today? I have seen 2.1.6 updated and corrected by Pcristi, but I'm not sure.
Please, one more time support on my last question.   

Version 2.1.7 is actually the latest "official" firmware.
To install the apps download this file, rename it to update.zip and install it with the reset button method or through the settings menu which I find more practical in this case:

The latest CFW from pcristi is version 2.1.6 that can be download from here:

I really like the "official" version 2.1.7 but if you want a very different look and feel from your box I recommend the Android TV (ATV unofficial) version of the CFW.

After reading your last comment (stl) I started to instal the CFW 2.1.6 (2) and it is great. All my desired apps are back and everything works smooth again.
Thank you all for the support you gave me. Great that with the step by step approach this nightmare turned out in a lot of fun with my HiMedia player again! ! !

I set my own screen wallpaper. When I hold the HOME button to shut down the applications from memory, I delete and then restart the Q10 pro. The screen wallpaper goes back to the default one (the blue one - pcristi) I have to set my wallpaper again. How to fix it? (CFW 2.1.6 pcristi)

Not use Clean Task from HiMedia , just reboot box take around same amount of time.

( if need WiFi OFF use CFW v2.1.6[1.x] practically no difference between v2.1.7[v1.x] )

Does it remember once entered subtitle settings (color, size, position) in MediaPlayer?

Great, now i can install. Can I direct install via paperclip on 2.1.4 or should I do something in between first - 2.1.6?

OFW 2.1.6/2.1.7 need only one time to be installed on box to get HDCP key enabled after this can go from any version to any version with paperclip.

Updated to official 2.1.6 and then flashed to custom 2.1.7 - both with paperclip:

1. Google play store was unstable and crashed a couple of times before finishing updates.
2. System went into a weird sleep mode (VFD on in white, but time is gone, and no picture) - and could not be awoken back. Only solution was to take power cord out, and reconnect and turn on. Happened after some time that it was left on (copying files). Happened at least twice.

Will update with any further conclusions/bugs as they come.

Now I've installed CFW HMD 2.1.7, Netflix and Prime Video work. Respect and thank you for the great work.

Update:

1. It didn't happen again, so I assume it was due to the system stabilizing after the upgrade.
2. Did not recur after turning off screensaver. Guessing the screensaver/daydream option is buggy and should not be used.
