Firmware upgrade Q5pro
« on: August 31, 2020, 04:44:33 PM »
Hi my name is Wesley and I have a question regarding the updating of the firmware on my Q5pro.

I am currently running 1.0.9. and I want to update to the latest firmware. I have downloaded the 5.1 to 7 migration firmware. I have tried to install it but to no effect.
The migration firmware speaks of version 1.0.1. to 1.0.8, so I tried to downgrade the firmware, also without effect.

Process of installation.
I downloaded the firmware from this website
I formatted a thumb drive (ex-Fat)
I extracted the update.zip file to the root of the thumb drive
I inserted the thumb drive in the USB 3.0 port of the Q5 Pro
I pressed the reset button with a pin and switched the Q5 Pro on and holded the reset button untill the android man came on.
While the Q5 Pro is busy I do not see a progress bar, after a few minutes the Q5 Pro starts back up to a factory default.

I have tried this method numerous times, what am I missing?

Kind regards,

Wesley

Hi,

Download this file:
Android 5.1 to 2.0.4:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/un7hxxjah3uq063/Q5_PRO_FIRMWARE._ANDROID_5.1_TO_ANDROID_7_v2.0.4._FUTEKO._HMD-2.0.4_2017-07-07.142542.zip/file

Format the pen in FAT32 not ex-Fat and try again with the same procedure you did before.

Hi,

Thanks for the link, I think that I gave used to big a tumbdrive so wile formatting the FAT32 option is not available. I have started the download of the firmware, this might take a while. When installed I will let you know the results.

Many thanks,

Wesley

Hi,

I downloaded the link and extracted the updated.zip file to a thumb drive formatted in FAT32. Still the Q5 pro goes back to factory settings without updating the firmware.

Is there anything else I am doeing wrong?

Kind regards,

Wesley

Confirm in settings you're still with version 1.0.9
If you have anything else connected to the usb ports remove it
Try another USB port
Try formating the thumb drive in NTFS
Try another thumb drive
Are you renaming the file to update.zip by any chance?
