decided to pull the pin on the Q10. Going to seel it on ebay. Ever since i bought it it's been a bit buggy and runs fine for a while and then something breaks and that takes time to sort out

i've had a mibox that was bought primarily to play media files in our caravan as it can run off of a usb outlet. It's not been perfect but it's had far less issues than the Q10 and i've taken to use this since the music playing issue has come about

bought a shield media player on an ebay discount deal and that's going to take over the Q10's job

thanks to the members who have offered help and support while i've had the Q10, you're very much appreciated, cheers

An issue that's become apparent is that when playing music in Kodi is that my Q10 will only play one track and then it stops. You can see that when it gets to the end of the track it's playing, the rest of the tracks briefly light up one after the other to the last rack on that album and the music stops and the next track never plays automatically

In player settings, i have play next rack selected - that doesn't work, it won't play the next track. If I also select queue next track on selection set to on, that also doesn't work. Running the lastest version of Kodi, 18.3 and the latest FW version. I also have a Mi-Box 3, latest version of kodi too, this plays music normally, ie all tracks

very annoying as basically i can't use the Q10 to play music now. Anyone have any tips on a solution?

@dddp
Make backup, backup, backup, then can give a try,  dirty update didn't need to be problematic.

yes, very successful. A couple of manual reboots done but none needed during the upgrade process - all went smoothly. I noticed that Kodi is still v18.1 - is there any problems with 18.2?  Also, will the frame rate patch be included in later versions?

Thank you

Hello and THANK YOU @pcristi,
I intend to try a dirty update from CFW2.1.1 to CFW2.1.4.
1. Do I need to redo and reinstall all those patches: Samba, Framerate?
2. Does the subtitle issue stilll appear as FIXED, as in 2.1.1?
Thanks.

i too am in the same situation - still running CFW 2.1.1 and wondering if i can get away with the dirty upgrade process safely to CFW 2.1.4

I have a small problem with the latest custom FW and the latest Kodi, updated via playstore, where kodi sometimes crashes and i have to quit kodi. The file i'm playing will keep playing as it's using the wrapper. Kodi would occasionally crash using the version that came with the custom firmware as well so i don't think this is the problem

Any idea if there's  solution to this problem? Thanks

Uninstall current KODI and install 17.6 and turn off PlayStore updates for KODI. 18.x is still unstable on Android with external players.

thanks for you quick reply. Is this a shitty version so 5.1 works? Sometimes the wrapper doesn't work and having 5.1 support is nice

HiMedia Q10/Q5 Pro not support  DTS-HD, DTS-MA on Kodi 17.6/18.0, this option will not be show on Kodi/System/Audio settings.

Thank you for your answer.

Hi, first time user of the latest release of the custom firmware - liking it very much thank you.

Having some trouble finding a setting in kodi - I can't find the passthrough settings for DTS-HD DTS-MA etc.

Any help greatly appreciated, thank you

Is HD audio pass through working on official 2.04 FW?

In Himediaplayer, yes.

In standard Kodi 17+, you get 2 channel PCM from Kodi internal player. SPMC or Kodi 'shitty' builds will give up to 5.1 passthrough. Kodi+wrapper gives full HD-Audio for local media.

excuse my ignorance but i take it standard kodi isn't supported so HD audio pass through isn't possible on android 7 and FW 2.04 and kodi 17.3? Any idea of when this might be rectified?

i'm running a shitty kodi now. I understand kodi can update itself unless you turn updates off - can you tell me where to find this auto update setting so i can make sure it doesn't update itself please

Anyway, the custom firmware needs to be installed to the old 2.03 or over the new 2.04 official also? - EDIT, i read back and it seems you can install over official 2.04 using the "restore" method - how does this method work please? I'm sorry, i'm fairly new to this process

as the post above says - can the custom firmware be installed over the official 2.04 version?

Hoping to regain high definition multi channel audio, DTS-HD etc, that i had under android 5 and 1.09 firmware but updating to android 7 and 2.04 seems to have been lost in the official 2.04 firmware

any help greatly appreciated, thank you

so aac 5.1 - does that carry through ok and you get 5.1 sound?

Reason why i ask is often my x265 files contain aac 5.1 sound so i want 5.1 sound output
