HiMedia Q5/Q10 4K3D / Re: 3D Ghosting
« on: September 19, 2015, 02:14:10 AM »
An example of what i mean is attached. WHat im finding as well as random ghosting within the main image, is that the edges of the image get a very serious ghost as shown in the images attached. You can see what is a double line in the first image. When you see this its as if the edge of the screen is curving in 3d and is very hard to look at. Now i stress this issue comes and goes depending on each scene. So i dont know if it has something to do with objects on screen and how the player is interpretting the level of 3d depth. This is from Age of Ultron BD iso on a LG 60" 3d panel. 3d from any other source is flawless.

Watched a few 3d films last night and also found that the 3d performance is lacking. Tried sbs, OU and Bluray iso. Ghosting is random but definately present pretty much at some point during playback. Another issue i have found and this appears to b random but i found that on many titles there is a band of about -2 cm's on each side of the screen where the 3d is out of focus and significant ghosting which makes it very hard to watch 3d as you tend to get distracted by these out of focus parts of the screen. This is only happening on the himedia and not via any other 3d source.

Thanks for the reply but no that did not work either. Removed the pin you mentioned still with same issue. Really starting to annoy me now.

I have only just purchased the Q10 and noticed since i got it the ARC(Audio Return Channel) feature of my Onkyo stopped working. After a lot of messing about it appears the issue above is effecting me. Problem is, even with the unit poweroff completely, the ARC does not work. The only way to re-enable the ARC feature is to disconnect the HDMI cable from the amp completely. Is this a firmware bug of a hardware issue? If a firmware issue, is it going to be addressed as it renders the unit somewhat useless for those who use an amplifier with ARC + auto power on.
