I think that the firmware solutions won't come from Himedia...........but as always you never know..
There are so many RK 3368 based boxes available, so it will be a matter of time and goodwill of RK before a full blown firmware will be available. It seems that many companies are focusing on
further development within Kodi. 

Till today no news from Himedia.........maybe they are preparing a full blown firmware to kick everybody arse.. :) :)

I think that it's depending of procedure installing firmware....total reflash provides a custom kodi software.. But I am not sure............

That's strange a manufacure is releasing a certain software and you as official reseller is mentioning that's not the official update! So when will there be an official update from Himedia/Futeko?
And more important, what will be the road map to solve all the open issues? Sorry to say this , with experience of the existing Q5/Q10 it can't be that difficult to provide at least a full blown software. Or is Rockchip the problem?

Don't understand me wrong, I am not complaining.

Hallo,

Strange that a manufacture doesn't allow you to share a certain software. I guess as manufacture you want to sell the much boxes as possilbe with a decent software. The sooner the software is at a certain level the more potential. The more people reporting bugs the better I would say.  Keep the doors closed will not generate sales...

Look at ZIDOO, hopefully not the same story as Xtreamer in the past, at lot of promises and potential buyers based on spread information.

So what bugs are HIMEDIA solving?

Thank you for sharing this information.

There are many suppliers pushing boxes with RK3368 chip. One of them, Zidoo, seems to understand at least what I see at the Kodi forum, that they need to deliver a performance
before customers going to buy it. You have experience with the Q5/10 so use this in your advantage.. please focus on market demands.

Have bought also this Himedia and using mostly Kodi incl. all possibilities ;) Personally I think it's up to Himedia and of course development of kodi, android based, if this box will be
interesting for the future. Hopefully it will be...
I am heavy Kodi user and there are of course limits...........nothing is perfect. There are many competitors launching RK 3368 boxes so I assume that the level of perfromance will increase during 2015 - 2016.

It's not a question who to blame, it would be wise for such companies to have a quality check instead off pushing hardware at the market.
Can't be that difficult for a Huawei company the provide a better performance then the regular competition. Still waiting for a Netflix fix, doesn't work at this moment.

With a little help and open communication you can solve a lot off problems and have the best tool for home use.

Tried some 4K files, have no idea which files should work, but get many times a error message. Could be software/hardware related or a not supported files issue. It would be good as a manufacture
that you provide suchs files so that potential customers can experience the potential of such hardware.

I assume that I need to deinstall first existing Kodi before installing this file?  Can't install existing file, something is wrong with this file or need the deinstall existing version.

Someone experience?

For people wanting to control the box over Lirc, it seems to work for Kodi.  Haven't found yet a problem with Kodi. The only problem I had was using
my Harmony one as substitute for existing remote. Need to assign some extra keys for working properly...

I forgot to mention that the basic interface is childish...... the other way around, new users will find it easy to work with but I would prefer that
they would take time to create something better. Further a language adjustment doesn't adjust the language of the main frame... Why not?
