My Q5 Pro is via a Toslink connected to my AV receiver. Q5 pro utilizes a HDMI cable to connect to the TV. I'm using Firefox to stream videos from youtube. I'm using Firefox for Android because it will allow me to install Ublock Origin ad blocker.

So far my setup.
However when I listen to music videos or whatever, the audio is streamed to my AV receiver as a DTS signal. This cannot be right. Via the pc, the audio is streamed to the receiver correctly. So it's a Q5 Pro thing.

Edit: in fact, the Q5 streams all audio as DTS to my av receiver. I just opened a movie from my NAS. It's in AAC, but ends up as a DTS on my receiver as mentioned.

Anyone know what's up with this?

OFFICIAL Q10 PRO FIRMWARE. FUTEKO. HMD-2.1.4 2019-05-31

Internal build number: HMD-2.1.4 2019-05-31.171152
So I've just installed this. But Auto IP configuration doesn't seem to work for me. It fetches some wrong IP. Wifi works.
Any known issues?

It works with a static IP, however, the range of available IP addresses is out of my control,  so it needs to work on auto.

HiMedia Q10 Pro, Q5 Pro / Re: Connecting to NAS with Q10 Pro
« on: April 08, 2017, 07:09:36 PM »
Hi All

Has anyone managed to connected to their NAS using the LAN option under Hi Media Player?

The Auto Search detects the NAS but when I click on it i just get the LAN title at the top of the screen and nothing else. I have tried manual settings also to no avail. I would appreciate if anyone has any insight into this?

Cheers
Did you solve it? If not, I had a similar issue in combination with my Synology 1511+. To find shares, the firewall in the NAS needs to be disabled. Once you have defined the "LAN-shortcuts" you can enable firewall again. On my Synology NAS, granting full permissions to my Himedia Q5 didn't help at all - i.e. Firewall must be disabled temporarily. Also, after rebooting Himedia, you sometimes may have to disable the firewall and reconnect with each of your LAN-shortcuts you previously made. Then you can disable the Firewall once again. That's how my Q5 Pro rolls.

If you're using remove rxii it's kinda easy: click on the lower part of the movie screen and move down. With a bit of exercise you will get the move.
How did make it come up in the first place? It looks like it has a life of its own.

HiMedia Q10 Pro, Q5 Pro / Can't uninstall some apps on Q5
« on: April 06, 2017, 03:03:32 PM »
HI.

On the Q5, I've uninstalled Chrome (replaced by firefox) and facebook and netflix a dozen times. But after each reboot of the Q5, these apps are back. What's up with that lol? Are those apps kinda forced on the consumer or do I need to uninstall it some special way? If so, explain carefully as I'm fairly new to Android and mediaboxes in general. Cheers!

Hi, I'm kinda new to Android. I have a Q5 Pro. Sometimes I have 5 buttons (didn't count) below the screen. Two loudspeakers on the far left and right, a triangle, square and s circle.  I don't know what I do/did to make them appear and I don't know how to make them disappear. So how do I get rid of that ribbon of buttons when they appear? Thanks.
