Dear Futeko,

I am not able to upgrade from OFW 2.0.8 to OFW 2.0.9. I am following the procedure as mentioned in the thread. Everytime it rolls back to OFW 2.0.7. Colored logo appears but soon after within 10 seconds the Himedia logo appears and the installed FW is 2.0.7 only. Please help.

Thanks in advance.

Somehow got the FW 2.0.9 installed. Actually changed the USB Stick and the install was successful.

Biggest setback is Amazon Prime Video even after applying patch which was generously developed by @pchristi is NOT working with 2.0.9. Besides, there are occasional stuck up of Google Play Store.

So far happy with Youtube & Himedia Player.

That 2nd shot, the info display, it that from  your Sony TV or from the Q10?

Q10 Amazon prime streamed on Sony TV with HDMI output as RAW.

Be careful where you the information about its actual resolution. My TV shows that the signal on-screen is fullHD on any content I am playing, even Netflix. The TV may do an upscale. After I was able to see Netflix in fullHD I was able to tell the difference between the lower resolution and the actual fullHD resolution from Netflix.

I have used Amazon Official Firestick too with same TV. Could tell much difference in the Full HD content from either sources i.e. Q10 Pro and Firestick.

Yes, Full HD content from Netflix is at par and more superior.

My TV is 8 years old Sony Bravia 40EX710 and is not an upscaling one.

May be @pcristi would like to throw some light on the issue.

Well, the video output is 1920X1080p, Audio input is PCM 2.0.

Sorry for the pic quality, taken from a mobile phone camera in low light. Pic quality in the TV is far better.

Apply this patch to get Amazon Prime Video app working and play on SD resolution, HD/4K resolution are another story...
,

pcristi rocks Indeed!

Call it a miracle. I applied this patch in my Q10 Pro and Prime Video started working, hold on!, not only in SD quality, its HD as well. Checked with the output from the AVR which shows as 1920X1080p, HDMI input is RAW :-)

Awesome Patch by pcristi :-)

FYI under "Settings" there is no update available which I could uninstall as suggested by the device after installing OFW 2.0.7.

Thanks pchristi!

I tried Method No.2 for changing Android TV to OFW 2.0.7 i.e. Settings>Local Upgrade and I succeeded! However one problem which crops up is Google Play store isnt opening and says "Not Compatible with this version of device. How to resolve this issue?

FYI under "Settings" there is no update available which I could uninstall as suggested by the device after installing OFW 2.0.7.

Dear Futeko,

I am not able to change my OS from custom Android TV (Based on FW 2.0.6) to either Custom 2.0.7 or the official 2.0.7 in my Q10 Pro. Every time the update starts with colored circle and after a while the system boots and again logins into Android TV OS with very less pre-installed apps of the Android TV.

Please suggest how to proceed further with change in OS from Custom Android TV to Official 2.0.7 or Custom 2.0.7.

Thanks and Regards

Dear PCristi,

Like Netflix, Amazon prime video and Hotstar support for Android TV 25-10-2017 version?

Neither Futeko seems interested to solve this. Prime Video a prime app for streaming online movies is never available with Android 7 versions. Pathetic.

Amazon Prime Video app has never worked in any of the versions including the Custom FWs.

Such a shitty Android TV box Himedia is, pathetic. Time to switch to some other box!

Updated the FW to 2.0.5, first impressions:

1. Didnt like the media player layout, doesn't allow the convenient feature of dragging the status bar when a movie is played to desired time point.

2. On closing the subtitle, the himedia player crashes and force restarts, almost everytime.

3. You have to close the subtitle for each and every file separately.

Updated the FW from 2.0.1 to 2.0.4 (Had uninstalled 2.0.3 due to serious issues already discussed in other threads). Facing following issues:

1. The Mii 3 Remote freezes occassionally. Buttons cease to function with this FW.

2. While playing a downloaded content through Media Center of the App, the player auto restarts when you change a setting by pressing the Menu icon of the remote. Unlike earlier, you cant drag a video to a desired time as there is no such functionality in the new media player with this FW. Only remote buttons of fast Forward and Fast Backward work with X2, X4 etc pre settings. It is highly inconvenient.

3. Youtube App force restarts occassionally much cause to worry as I watch You tube a lot.

4. No Amazon Prime Video working.
