Q5/Q10 Pro Custom Firmware

I'm just in the upgrade process for my Q10 Pro.

Coming from 1.08 I first upgraded to official 2.01, which worked, then started the upgrade to custom 2.04.

Waiting for the Himedia start screen to show up now for 45 minutes. Should I wait any longer or is something wrong and I should start over again?

You should upgrade to 2.0.3 first, then to 2.0.4. I did it like this several times in the last days and I did not have any issues.

Yes, that worked, but I had to downgrade to 1.08 and redo the upgrade steps. Thanks for the heads up.

What is the procedure for switching to custom 2.0.4?

Can I install custom 2.0.3 and custom 2.0.4, or do I have to go through the official?

Will there be an update added to remove the bottom navigation bar for 2.0.4?
I wouldn't mind the bar if it could be hidden as in the beelink box I tried once,  but I just love the himedia picture and sound quality.

The pcristi custom firmwares always remove the nav bar.

Or it can be removed from official 2.0.4 as follows (also provided by pcristi):

* Remove bottom navigation bar in firmware 2.0.4? - Download: http://www.mediafire.com/?1gf285u9nkybaey. - Rename disable_android_navigation_bar_(CFW)_HMD-2.0.4.zip to update.zip and copy to USB pen flash. - Back your sensitive data / kodi /etc... - Apply update.zip from Setting/Upgrade/Local Upgrade

Go to first post, first link, then under Android-7, you will find 2.0.4. Android 7 only.

The opening post has been updated with new pcristi version 2.0.4 custom firmwares for Q5 and Q10 Pro.

These firmwares have a notable new feature, 5.1 AUDIO PASSTHROUGH IN ANY VERSION OF KODI / SPMC 17+ (not 7.1 HD-Audio).

So no more 'shitty' Kodi builds.
