Post from another forum, the firmware is working fine in my Q10 Pro.
If you have an older version, the order should be 2.04->2.1.4->2.1.7, versions in between install the next one in the list.

Software package:
- Google Playstore
- Spotify app
- Disney +
- Prime Video
- Newer Netflix app

Install the same way as the firmware, rename downloaded file to update.zip (if you don't see the ".zip" DON'T add it, just rename to update because Windows is hiding the extension).

What's New:
- Optimization for compatibility of external player programs (see Settings / Advance / Display / HDCP switch and settings and Close the system navigation bar )
- Optimization of the application manager for loading and launching applications on Android TV.
- CEC support for TV / amplifier control ( Settings / Advance / Standby / HDMI CEC )
- Fixed black screen error when playing from local storage when HDCP was enabled.

A clean install is recommended, an upgrade via settings menu should be fine if you have 2.1.6:
1. Copy the downloaded file to the root of a FAT32 formatted USB pen drive, the USB pen drive should contain a single file called 'update.zip'
2. Insert the USB pen drive into any USB port of Q10 Pro.
3. With Q10 Pro turned off, use a paper clip or pen to press and hold the the pinhole UPGRADE/RESET button on the back of Q10 Pro (next to the power port).
4. While keeping the UPGRADE button pressed, turn on the Q10 Pro.
5. Q10 Pro will show the Android 7 colored circle logo.
6. When you see the circle logo you can release the restore button.
7. A progress bar will indicate update progress. Do not turn box off or use the box/remote during update!
8. When update is complete the box will automatically reboot.

Release tips:
- The image is flickering while playing a video? Disable Imprex engine in Himedia Player (will affect all players);
- Want to change the color-space? Press 0351 before entering the advance settings;
- Kodi isn't responding to the remote as it should? Disable joystick support in Kodi addons.

HiMedia Q10 Pro, Q5 Pro / Youtube Android TV 480p only audio
« on: March 05, 2019, 10:08:10 AM »
Hi,
If i try to play a video in YouTube android TV app that's only available in 480p I get only sound and a black screen. Afterwards that happens to all videos until I restart the app. I have the latest version 2.05.03 but this also happened with the previous version.
Can anyone confirm this? Is it a firmware or youtube app bug?
Thanks

HiMedia Q10 Pro, Q5 Pro / Firefox 57 search screen at startup
« on: November 23, 2017, 06:51:11 PM »
Hi,

After I installed the latest version of Firefox I get (most of the times not always) a white screen with a search field at the top when I turn my Q10 on. The screen appears instead of the launcher and after I close it (with the home button in the remote) everything works fine. The firmware version is CFW 2.0.6 and if I uninstall Firefox it does not happen anymore.
Can anyone confirm?
I would like to use Firefox because of the extensions.

Thanks

HiMedia Q10 Pro, Q5 Pro / Random search window
« on: August 01, 2017, 11:53:35 AM »
Hi,

Some days ago the search dialog window started to randomly appear, first it was when I started the YouTube app then stopped. Then happened the first time I would open the Himedia player to watch a movie and now it's every time the box turns on, the first thing I see is the search window. I think it started to happen when I Uninstalled the latest YouTube TV app and installed the older one (original) but I'm not sure.
The firmware version is CFW 2.04. Any one has an idea of what could be causing this?
Thanks

HiMedia Q10 Pro, Q5 Pro / Picture quality - PC HDMI name in Samsung TV
« on: April 24, 2017, 06:59:38 PM »
Hi,

I recently bought a Q10 Pro and was a bit disappointed with the picture quality in Youtube and watching movies when comparing to the Samsung Smart TV embedded player.
What I want to share with you is that changing the name (in the Samsung TV) of the  HDMI input to PC improved the picture quality because other settings are changed besides the name.
TV remote:
press Source
select input
press tools
select Edit name

Give it a try
