« on: February 12, 2021, 09:53:35 PM »

@pempek40:

but i'll change hardware soon anyway.

HiMedia Q10 Pro, Q5 Pro / Himedia Video Player latest version download?
« on: February 08, 2021, 09:12:26 PM »
Hi, I want to stay at 2.1.4 since i had some issues with 2.1.7, but at the same time use the latest Himedia video player apk on my Q10 Pro.

Is it possible to download the apk somewhere?

HiMedia Q10 Pro, Q5 Pro / Re: 720x576 aspect ratio problem
« on: June 04, 2020, 08:08:30 AM »
it isn't a firmware issue, the problem lies with the VideoPlayer itself.
i installed the older HimediaVideoPlayer, which works fine with these aspect ratios:

New HiMediaVideoPlayer is like that in both official and CFW 2.0.4.
For restore old HiMediaVideoPlayer download restore(old_player)_HiMediaVideoPlayer_1.0.11_HMD_0411(AirMouse_inputs_support).zip rename to update.zip and apply from Setting/Upgrade/Local Upgrade. In case want new HiMediaVideoPlayer again use this update.zip with restore method.

From the CFW 2.0.4 changelog: - New HiMediaVideoPlayer(VideoPlayer VideoPlay) not accept AirMouse/HiControl inputs

Is this just with the CFW or with the official 2.0.4 also?

And what does it mean exactly in the case of an airmouse? It just doesn't react to the mouse pointer or entirely, even the buttons are useless?!

Thank you!

The problem:
It's an older version, so it has other issues, like subtitles being always on when a new vid starts.

So... the question which comes to mind...:
are there newer versions of HiMediaVideoPlayer anywhere for download which might fix this once and for all?

HiMedia Q10 Pro, Q5 Pro / Re: 720x576 aspect ratio problem

So i tried different settings with different players.

VLC for Android is very good, but i can't get it to output sound other than 2.0 Stereo, no matter which settings i try. :\
Other players like KMPlayer are worse at playback or simply not usable on an android box/tv.

I've kept MX Player for that reason and set it to play video streams as well as videos <720p, since Wrapper will output them squeezed.
The only setback is that i cannot get MX Player to skip chapters which are embedded in my ripped mkv files, since that player is primarily designed for phones.

This is my playercorefactory.xml:
Code: [Select]
<playercorefactory>
<players>
<!-- himedia player for video -->
<player name="Wrapper" type="ExternalPlayer" audio="false" video="true">
<filename>com.himedia.xbmcwrapper</filename>
<hidexbmc>true</hidexbmc>
<playcountminimumtime>120</playcountminimumtime>
</player>

<player name="MXPlayerFree" type="ExternalPlayer" audio="false" video="true">
<filename>com.mxtech.videoplayer.ad</filename>
<hidexbmc>true</hidexbmc>
<playcountminimumtime>120</playcountminimumtime>
</player>

</players>

<rules action="prepend">

<!--network protocol rules-->
<rule protocols="nfs|http|rtmp|sop" player="MXPlayerFree" /> <!--all nfs-->

<!--internet streams rules-->
<rule protocols="pvr" player="MXPlayerFree" /> <!--all pvr-->
<rule internetstream="true" player="MXPlayerFree" /> <!--all streams-->

<!--video audio channels rules-->
<rule video="true" audiochannels="7" player="Wrapper" />
<rule video="true" audiochannels="8" player="Wrapper" /> <!-- 7.1 audio-->

<!--video resolution rules-->
<rule video="true" videoresolution="2160" player="Wrapper" /> <!--4K-->
<rule video="true" videoresolution="1080" player="Wrapper" />
<rule video="true" videoresolution="720" player="Wrapper" />
<rule video="true" videoresolution="576" player="MXPlayerFree" />
<rule video="true" videoresolution="540" player="MXPlayerFree" />
<rule video="true" videoresolution="480" player="MXPlayerFree" />

<!--audio / music rules-->
<rule audio="true" player="PAplayer"/> <!--all audio to kodi internal music player-->

<!--specific codecs rules-->
<rule video="true" audiocodec="truehd|true-hd|dtshd|dts-hd|dts" player="Wrapper"/>
<rule filetypes="iso|bdmv|mpls|m2ts|img" player="Wrapper"/>

</rules>

</playercorefactory>

Software i use for ripping my DVDs into mkv with chapters and subtitles (fast + easy to use):
- ImgBurn: rip DVD to iso
- MakeMKV BETA 1.15.1: open iso, select video/audio/subtitle you want in your mkv (or select all)
- name file according to themoviedb.org, so that KODIs TMDb scraper can scan it properly

The problem with 576 aspect ration being "squeezed" with Wrapper is still apparent with the latest 2.1.4 and 2.1.4 lite firmwares.

Is there a fix for this, other than using a different video player + tinkering with playercorefactory?

Issues like this make me newer want to buy anything from Himedia ever again.

HiMedia Q10 Pro, Q5 Pro / Re: Q10 Pro Windows 10 SMB Alternative
« on: December 22, 2019, 05:25:55 PM »
I'm getting even worse speeds with this app (~4 MB/s) than with SMB 1.0 (~10MB/s), so i've gone back and reactivated SMB 1.0 on Win 10.

A different solution like a cfw with SMB higher than 1.0 would be great since it takes ages to load anything to the Q10 Pro.

if there is another firmware,
this is definitly one issue that should be adressed.

HiMedia Q10 Pro, Q5 Pro / Re: Playercorefactory improvement (HMD 2.1.4)
« on: September 25, 2019, 08:01:59 PM »
i changed mine so that Wrapper opens  videos with surround sound and image files (BR/DVD isos) and MX player free is used for streams, since KODI's internal player is strugling with some hq streams (e.g. Twitch addon).

if you want .avi files to be opened by a specific player,
just specify it with the "rule filename" line.

Code: [Select]
<playercorefactory>
<players>
<!-- himedia player for video -->
<player name="Wrapper" type="ExternalPlayer" audio="false" video="true">
<filename>com.himedia.xbmcwrapper</filename>
<hidexbmc>true</hidexbmc>
<playcountminimumtime>120</playcountminimumtime>
</player>
</players>

<rules action="prepend">

<!--network protocol rules-->

<rule protocols="nfs|http|rtmp|sop" player="VideoPlayer" /> <!--all nfs-->

<!--internet streams rules-->

<rule protocols="pvr" player="VideoPlayer" /> <!--all pvr-->
<rule internetstream="true" player="VideoPlayer" /> <!--all streams-->

<!--video audio channels rules-->

<rule video="true" audiochannels="6" player="Wrapper" /> <!--5.1 audio-->
<rule video="true" audiochannels="7" player="Wrapper" />
<rule video="true" audiochannels="8" player="Wrapper" /> <!-- 7.1 audio-->

<!--video resolution rules-->

<rule video="true" videoresolution="2160" player="Wrapper" /> <!--4K-->

<!--audio / music rules-->

<rule audio="true" player="PAplayer"/> <!--all audio to kodi internal music player-->

<!--specific codecs rules-->

<rule video="true" audiocodec="truehd|true-hd|dtshd|dts-hd|dts" player="Wrapper"/>

<rule filename=".*.3D.*|.*.3D.iso|3D.*" player="Wrapper"/>
<rule filetypes="iso|bdmv|mpls|m2ts|img" player="Wrapper"/>

</rules>
</playercorefactory>--specific codecs rules-->

<rule video="true" audiocodec="truehd|true-hd|dtshd|dts-hd|dts" player="Wrapper"/>

<rule filename=".*.3D.*|.*.3D.iso|3D.*" player="Wrapper"/>
<rule filetypes="iso|bdmv|mpls|m2ts" player="Wrapper"/>
<rule video="true"  player="Wrapper"/>
</rules>
</playercorefactory>

« on: August 12, 2019, 03:57:05 PM »
having the exact same issue here with win 10 1903, seems indeed to be a bug.
i use FastCopyPortable as a temporary solution until m$ patches it.

10
i feel so dumb.
pcristi messaged me:

set the default switch to "off" and subtitles are disabled by default.

now if only the wrapper would play DVDs correctly, then all would be peachy.
but a man can dream.

11
Still issues with playback of DVD isos:
Wrapper cannot access the DVD menu, seems just to play the longest video file it finds.

Subtitles are still automatically on.
Annoying as hell, since very time i start a movie, i have to navigate to subtile settings and turn them off.
Just add an option like NONE in that submenu ffs.

so... as of 2019, the internal media player cannot play DVDs properly.
Which is like buying a car that cannot drive on roads.

That was the last time i bought a media player from China.

13
using kodi-20190315-32d3bbe1-master-armeabi-v7a.apk

the external player crashes stopped.
has some other minor fixes.
best version of KODI 18 so far.

exhuming this corpse of a topic...

Anyone else having issues with the playback of DVD isos?
I recently ripped some concert DVDs.
KODI VideoPlayer is playing them okay, but using the wrapper, i cannot access menus or change chapters.

using latest cfw

Hi,

is it possible to assign a video player to a specific folder using the playercorefactory?

Right now it looks like this:
Code: [Select]
<playercorefactory>
<players>
<!-- himedia player for video -->
<player name="Wrapper" type="ExternalPlayer" audio="false" video="true">
<filename>com.himedia.xbmcwrapper</filename>
<hidexbmc>true</hidexbmc>
<playcountminimumtime>120</playcountminimumtime>
</player>
</players>

<rules action="prepend">

<!--network protocol rules-->

<rule protocols="http|https|rtmp|sop" player="VideoPlayer" /> <!--all http-->
<rule protocols="nfs|smb" name="Wrapper" /> <!--all nfs|smb-->

<!--internet streams rules-->

<rule protocols="pvr" player="VideoPlayer" /> <!--all pvr-->
<rule internetstream="true" player="VideoPlayer" /> <!--all streams-->

<!--video audio channels rules-->

<rule video="true" audiochannels="6" player="Wrapper" /> <!--5.1 audio-->
<rule video="true" audiochannels="8" player="Wrapper" /> <!-- 7.1 audio-->

<!--audio / music rules-->

<rule audio="true" player="PAPlayer"/> <!--all audio to kodi internal music player-->

<!--specific codecs rules-->

<rule video="true" audiocodec="truehd|true-hd|dtshd|dts-hd|dts" player="Wrapper"/>

<rule filename=".*.3D.*|.*.3D.iso|3D.*" player="Wrapper"/>
<rule filetypes="iso|bdmv|mpls|m2ts|img" player="Wrapper"/>
<rule video="true"  player="Wrapper"/>
</rules>
</playercorefactory>

This works fine, except for one folder where i store music videos.
I want to play them using the KODI VideoPlayer, because then KODI can shuffle the videos in a playlist and i can play music videos, old school MTV-style.
Right now this does not work, because as soon as Wrapper plays one from the playlist, shuffle does not work anymore.

Idea: assign musicvideos-folder in playercorefactory to VideoPlayer using a rule.
Is that possible?

There used to be a Wiki which listed all possible entries to the playercorefactory.xml, but i cannot find it...
edit:
Here it is: https://kodi.wiki/view/External_players
But there is no folder-rule. :\

Right now the only solution i see there is to give all music videos a specific name, like
Artist - Title.MUSICVIDEO.filetype
and then specify something like
Code: [Select]
<rule filename ="*.MUSICVIDEO.*" player="VideoPlayer" />
