Just confirming (1) if rooting is really necessary to use XBMC Wrapper, and (2) if the guide in post #1 can still be followed as is? I know there's ZDMC, but it hasn't been updated to Kodi 19.3. Thanks.

Yep, nice review by @Olivier. I like the A5... but, don't care for the internal scraper/jukebox... so, use VidOn XBMC.

My concern is whether eGreat can really get VidOn to implement 23.976 while not breaking HD audio. To date, VidOn has NOT been able to do this w/any box. The other small issue is lack of flipeyes for 3D, which I'd think VidOn can fix.

I do need subs, but only for non-English movies. We have a closed beta-testers issue tracking spreadsheet, but decision was made by group to keep it closed. Otherwise, you could've added the sub issue to it. And, to be honest, not sure HiMedia pays much attention to it.

Maybe you want to keep it that way ;), as once you start noticing microstutters, you don't stop. Watch closely the end credits of any 3D ISO. You'll see at least a couple of frame skips or jumps.

Not yet... hoping next f/w fixes this, and agreed, it's annoying once you start noticing. It isn't as bad as w/previous f/w's, but still.

I just revised "disable" to "minimize" effects of Imprex. I think this would be considered a bug as if there's an option included to turn off Imprex, but PQ is still being 'processed', then it didn't turn off.

Many users want PQ in = PQ out (as is) without any processing at all, so HiMedia should allow ability to completely disable Imprex. This is same as what CloudMedia does w/Popcorn Hour players and VXP processing I believe, or the Darbee processor on Oppo BD players that have it.

Agreed... but, it's one of those things, once you start noticing microstutters, you can't un-notice them. Think HiMedia is very close making Q10 Pro just about as good as it can get.
