Discovered that its is UNDERPOWERED.

Placed a 12v 4A power supply and its gone.

HiMedia Q10 Pro, Q5 Pro / Q10 Pro Fan Noisy
« on: November 28, 2016, 07:21:53 PM »
After 7 months of use  (purchased form a third party/Ebay on May when Futeko was out of stock) my Q10 Pro fan becomes noisy (whines very much)...that it becomes a bit irritating when viewing movies or listening to music.

Any suggestions???

Previous Configuration:
An Aukey USB 3.0 powered hub is connected on the USB 3.0 host port of Q10 Pro. Attached is my DAC, 2TB portable drive, and USB 3.0 connection from my Dell monitor. My mouse and keyboard on the two USB 2.0 ports. All working fine since May when unit is purchased.

Problem:
My DAC wouldn't play. The app sees the DAC but would not play. No lights on my powered hub to indicate connection. However my 2TB portable drive and USB of my Dell monitor functions properly.

Experimentation:
Tested my DAC from my Android phone via OTG and it works as intended.
Tried to move the mouse on the Aukey powered hub and it won't work.
Tried to move the keyboard to the hub and it won't work as well.
Removed the the powered hub from the USB 3.0 port of  my Q10 Pro and plug directly the DAC and later the keyboard and it won't work.
And my 2tb portable drive and USB 3.0 from my Dell montior all working fine.

Current configuration:
Using currently the USB 3.0 hub from my Dell monitor w/c is plugged  on the USB 3.0 port of my Q10 Pro.
Attached to it are my mouse, keyboard and the Aukey powered hub.

My DAC is connected directly to one of the USB 2.0 ports.

Thoughts on why????

HiMedia Q10 Pro, Q5 Pro / LPS (Linear Power Supply) on Q10 Pro
« on: May 04, 2016, 04:05:45 PM »
Using Q10 Pro as my Player for my Geek Pulse Infinity DAC/Amp and is still very statisfied with the result.

Ref: http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=721.0

Tried w/ an LPS (Linear Power Supply) knowing its benefits, and found good results with it.
So bought a 12V 2A LPS from Audiophonics.fr (http://www.audiophonics.fr/en/hi-fi-power-supply/linear-power-supply-double-2x-12v-2a-p-10252.html)

True to my experiment have found good results in audio. TO MY SURPRISE (heard this before but just seen it until now), video has somewhat more clearer, more definition, and the colors more dynamic.

Would like to confirm that I could play TRUE (not downsampled) DXD and DSD (DSD64/DSD128) music thru a DAC on the USB port.

USB DAC: Geek Out 1K

Player: Neutron (newest version)

Other players I could not play because I could not access the program settings.
Apps tried: UAPP and ONKYO HF.

If others could help me on those Apps cited above would be welcome.

Next to try: Geek Pulse Infinity (w/ DSD256 firmware upgrade)
