HiMedia Q10 Pro, Q5 Pro / Re: Q5/Q10 Pro Custom Firmware
« on: March 02, 2021, 12:26:42 AM »
OK, a few days now on CFW 2.1.7, with framerate and samba patches...
It seems it is less enjoyable, since many interrupts during movies (with wrapper) for handshakes on image, it can happen every 2 minutes or so... which is UNACCEPTABLE...
I setup framerate switch adaptation OFF in both settings of player and PQ in wrapper, maybe this is the cause.
I uninstalled framerate switch patch, also.
Will post results. If not working, back to 2.1.4 with new mediaplayer app...
What could be causing this, is in many films, series, more or less...
Cheers.
I had the same problem with HDMI Handshake issues as well,  I fixed it by setting framerate switch adaptation OFF in "settings"

Merry Christmas to all, and a Happy end to crappy 2020 ;) :)

Maybe because he included it in his CFW? or he has to update it for 2.1.7? Just guessing.

Doesn't need to be differences between OFW and CFW, but as alternative root can try ROOT_SuperSU_v2.82_SR5_via_LAN.
yes, that works. I tried it when Magisk.zip didn't install. Thanks pcristi.

I was able to install magisk on official 2.1.6 using pcristi's Magisk_v19.3_-root_%26_Universal_Systemless_Interface_FW_v2.1.4.  But it won't install on CFW 2.1.6. Is there a way to root?  I need root for Titanium Backup. Thanks,  John

@pcristi  Thank you for the info :) ** I'm using Nova launcher, not he stock one. Glad to see that you are (might be) Working on a CFW :)

Just upgraded. Tried system method first, didn't run smoothly so I used the paperclip method to do the updates: 2.1.6, Google Play etc.. and Magisk. I have 2 issues. First; How can I get rid of the bottom navigation bar? Secondly; There is no check mark or menu button showing in Titanium Backup :)  (unable to do batch restore or backup) Are there fixes for these 2 issues?   TIA.  John

Patch can be install from menu or paper clip not need to be differences.
Note to do disconnect power and reconnect one time after box is running v2.1.6, some user report as need it.

OK, thank you for the tip.

Can I 'dirty flash' 2.1.6 over 2.1.4 through system menu rather than paperclip reset method, so I can preserve my settings and apps?

I'd like to know the answer to this as well. It's a real pain to have to redo apps and settings.

Hi all.
I have the q10 Pro on CFW 2.1.4. I have noticed that several new Disney movies are using high bitrate (9-11 MBps) Atmos tracks that cause my Blu-Ray and UHD rips (ISo & MKV) to freeze. >:( If I remux the DTS-HD MA 7.1 track into the ISO or MKV the movie plays fine. Movies in particular: Moana (3D as well), Pirates of the Caribbean 5 (Dean Men Tell No Tales) Zootopia (3D as well). Has anybody else noticed this? I don't know if It's a seamless branching issue or not. I Googled the issue and it seems that Kodi has this issue as well.  I am using the Media Center app with wrapper to play my movies. It's a pain in the @ss to have to stop the movieremux the movies and remux them. Ay input is appreciated.

I run CFW and have never had this experience. All my movies are either blu-ray rips to MKV or 3D rips as ISO. Have only ever run CFW since getting my Q10 pros.

I have the Denon AVR-X 6200W and Have the most up-to-date FW and have zero problems with DTS-HDRA tracks.

I've installed again new original firmware and tried several times ,bat nothing. when i click number 2-nothing happens, but when i click number 1,or 9,himedia goes to reboot. Anyone with same problem  ?
Use CFW. No problems here. :)
