Hi all.  Just completed the upgrade and did a quick test if files.
NOTE:  All settings are lost with this firmware upgrade, even without using the pin method.
There is a need to fully re-set audio, all video and time settings (defaults to China) before first use.
Auto HDMI and 24Hz does still work for 1080p when switched on.
Kodi also needs settings checked as mine turned off "audio passthrough" and defaulted audio to 2.0 rather than 7.1 (which did not affect 7.1 playback in MediaCenter or Kodi via wrapper)

Kodi 17 RC is automatically installed.  I like the new look of the standard skin :)
Even though I copied over my "userdata" directory files from Kodi 16.1, it wanted to start the library from scratch.
(I should have used Kodi back-up app instead perhaps).
I have stuck with the new 17.  Due to the number of files in my library, it is taking a long time to complete the scan.

I can confirm that TrueHD and DTS-HD MA 7.1 both pass fine to my AVR via HDMI from Kodi and MediaCenter.  DTS and DolbyDigital pass fine as well.
FLAC 7.1 still has the previous "quirk" of passing in 2.0 unless there is another audio track (like TrueHD 7.1) on the same video file  ???.

The duplicated drive names from Kodi 16 and Android 7 have thankfully all disappeared now  ;D

In Music, under Kodi FLAC 5.1 audio was only passed as 2.0 PCM this time BUT the same track passes as 5.1 using MediaCenter.
Not sure why, so I may need to re-check Kodi settings once I find my way around the new interface.

The MediCenter is no longer showing "shorcuts" for previously logged NAS drive directories as it has in past firmware.  Can this come back please?

Very disappointed! :(

Resolution bug still here (if I set 2160p, after reboot, swirch itself to 1080p).
No fixes on subtitles that disappear when timing is too close.

I think I will give the last chance to this "machine" with fw 1.09 and then Iwill move away from himedia.

Me too.

The "tagging issues" on subtitles have been fixed, but the more critically "missing subtitles" is not fixed.
And the cause is as written, if the time between 2 subtitles is less than a frame you risk missing the subtitle.
The logic for putting the subtitles in the next frame needs more work.

This issues with overlapping subtitles can be easily fixed, just run the subtitles through a software that can fix this even in a batch. I really do not see this as such a big issue like the others that have not been fixed by HiMedia and cannot be fixed by us.

I have over 500 subtitles in various folders in my library. I won't start to fix them all just because they cannot fix an issue which all player are able to handle. I already done that when they were unable to implement auto encoding recognition in their player. Which is still not working btw. Furthermore if I download a subtitle with the online plugin now I need to turn on my PC and fix it instead of just start watch the movie. I paid HiMedia good money for a compact player. I don't want to do additional work with every second movie I want to watch. I just want to hit the play button eat my pizza drink my beer and enjoy.

The subtitles with zero time gap not displaying problem was only reported to HiMedia on 9-JAN. 2.0.1 was built on 10/11-JAN so there wasn't time for this fix to be implemented. It will come in next fw.

Can you provide the .md5sum for these downloads so file integrity can be verified before flashing? Thanks.

It isn't necessary because we package the update.zip inside a parent .zip.

So the update.zip will not extract if the download is corrupted.

For the Android 7 to Android 7 Q10 Pro firmware, the MD5 of update.zip is 0B5F61577E35E7D5ABE2495090563BCA.
For the Android 5.1 to Android 7 Q10 Pro firmware, the MD5 of update.zip is B30D1AD8C1C183A82767471B431F1C7E.

Amazon Video doesn't work yet.
It's strange because now stream starts (for few seconds).

Verified and bug report sent to Himedia. It's strange because audio continues playing after video stops. It works in Android 5.1, 1.0.9 so that would be an option if Amazon Video is essential.

And the bug about the resolution?
It's one of the oldest and it's been fixed in the 1.09 fw.

I tested if the wireless keyboard with touchpad is recognized properly, but it is not (Microsoft All-In-One). Virtual keyboard is still displayed when I try to type anything. I did not see any downgrade, from my point of view.

The error is not just overlapping subtitles, this error can be fixed as you describe.
The error is when the <EndTime> of subtitile-1 and the <StartTime> of subtitle-2 is less than a frame apart, then you risk losing the display of subtitle 2.

I am forced to use Kodi for playing such media files.
If you use Kodi  you don't get Multichannel surround sound argh  :-[

I think that using Kodi + Wrapper is the best alternative. What sound format are you having problems with? I do not have (yet) a receiver or a decent audio system, so I am not sending RAW sound over HDMI, I am forcing it to be 5.1 for overall compatibility.
