@pcristie  re: update_patch_for_remove_hardware.type.television&navigationbar_CFW-2.0.6-2.0.8  I just installed it and now sound/volumes doesn't crash. :) all good now. Thank you very much.  Do I now take it that you've included this fix in your newly updated today CFW 2.0.8?

If you uninstall White Icons app, icons go back to their default image. Some will be colored, some will not.

I'm pretty sure, in a thread this big, that this has been covered, so I apologize...my searches haven't produced any effective results so I'm probably using the wrong keyword or something.  I'm forced to revert back to previous firmware (from 2.0.8 to 2.0.6) to troubleshoot a power off issue with a Q10 Pro (it started to regularly freeze with no video output and white LEDs still on when shutting down) and decided to try this custom firmware instead of official.  Two questions...feel free to simply point me to a link if it has been answered:

1) When I uninstalled the provided ES File Explorer and Pandora software, the launcher/home screen icons remained.  I tried going into Launcher 3D in Settings>Apps and clearing the data and the icons still do not disappear.  Is there a way to remove home screen icons?...the only information search and the HiMedia FAQ describe are the small self-added icons on the bottom (e.g. where you use the little checkboxes).

2) Can current alternate launchers (e.g. Nova) be installed?  Before I break something:) I read that you'd have to use ADB commands...a simple install wouldn't override the default launcher (launcher_3D) and that even if I did install Nova, there isn't a "Home or Default App" option to allow me to select a different launcher (i.e. like the process on most cell phones).  I just wanted to confirm the process...or confirm that it can't be done.

Any help...including just pointing me in the right direction...would be appreciated.

@mccainm
1. The icons of apps you uninstalled, but are present there by default won't go away unless you go over one of these icons, hit the menu button and select another app. You will have to do this every time the chosen app is updated.
2. Yes, alternate launchers can be installed, but only on the custom version. I have installed an alternate launcher. As soon as you install another launcher, when pressing the Home button, you will get a prompt to use another launcher.

Hi,  just installed 2.08 for the Q10 pro and the google play store app won't open. Have tried force stop, disable, and downloaded and installed the latest apk's for the Google Play Store and Google Play services, but the play store just won't open. Any suggestions would be appreciated.  All the other apps open without a problem.

mccainm: Alternate launchers can be installed on OFW (up from 2.0.4, I guess) as well, no need for CFW. Nova Launcher works for me great on 2.0.6, all icon layouts are fully customizable. Also didn't had any issues with installing it.

Thanks for the update. One question: it states that Kodi 17.6 is included. After upgrade I'm still on 17.4. How to upgrade to a newer version?

Via playstore is the easiest way
