HiMedia Q10 Pro, Q5 Pro / Black Screen on HiMedia Player
« on: January 16, 2018, 04:58:29 AM »
Unfortunately I have had to reinstall latest firmware, and lost Kodi. I have reinstalled Kodi 17.6 and everything appears ok but when I go to play any video, all I get is a black screen, with "HiMedia Video Player" showing at top of screen.
I have turned off the hardware acceleration, in Kodi, but this has not made any difference.
Any  help with this would be really appreciated. Or is this really a question for some Kodi forum.

Just to update this thread. I have reflashed the firmware, and this has fixed the problem.
Shame I didnt know how to back up my Kodi database so have to start from scratch.
And to answer DaveM i sometimes have a hardrive in this when I am travelling, but I just disconnect it when I have it connected to LAN at home, but this problem was with the hard drive disconnected.

Can any body help me ??
I have a Q10 Pro with Android 5.1.1 and its worked fantastic for about thirteen months.
When I turn the unit on now, "HiMedia"  just stays on the tv screen and it does not go any further.
I get "boot" on the screen of the Q10 Pro and then I get 10:00:00 and counting
Any help appreciated

HiMedia Q10 Pro, Q5 Pro / Re: HiMedia Q10 Pro cannot see my server
« on: April 26, 2017, 12:17:33 PM »
I just wanted to come back and update this thread.
This problem was fixed by me updating the firmware on my ASUS  RT-AC88U router. I didnt do a reset, just updated the firmware.
Thanks for all the suggestions.

Thanks very much for taking the time to reply. YES the router can most definitely see the Q10 as one of the clients connected to it.
Both the server and the Q10 have a static ip adress, there is no firewall on the router, I have disabled Avast on the server, NO mac filtering, and I still cant get any Samba or NFS connection.
And file explorer cannot see anything either.
I havent tried Kodi yet as I wanted to make sure I had network connection first.
It really has me stumped as I have not had any problems connecting to any other media players.
If I go to my server and go to windows file explorer, I can see the Q10 there, and if I click on it, it asks me for Network credentials (user name and password.)
Bit of a mystery this thing. I think it may be going on ebay, its doin my head in.
Is it worthwhile to update the firmware, could this fix my problem.

HiMedia Q10 Pro, Q5 Pro / HiMedia Q10 Pro cannot see my server
« on: April 19, 2017, 03:58:05 AM »
I just received my Q10 Pro, and the first thing I have tried to do; is get it connected to my server, where all my media is, but it just wont see my network or server.
The Q10 is connected to the LAN with a ethernet cable, and I can access youtube, Chrome browser, etc, on the Q10 with no problems.
I have gone to the MediaCenter and LAN and tried to set SMB or a NFS connection, but no matter what I do it just cant see my media server. I have tried both "auto search" and manually inputting IP address etc.
There is a couple of other media players on the network, a Zappiti 4K HDR, and a old Dune, and both these have no problem seeing the network, or the server.
Before I send this back does anybody have any suggestions.
I have disabled my firewall and turned off wi-fi in the Q10 and this made no difference.
I really like the feel of this so far, it feels really responsive, and hopefully I can get this connected.
Android 5.1.1 and Firmware 1.09
When I go into my router (ASUS RT-AC88U) I can see the Q10 as one of the clients so it appears that the router can see it, but cant make a NFS or Samba connection.
