In MKV 24Hz absolutely not possible!!
« on: April 24, 2016, 11:01:44 PM »
After meanwhile reinstalling the Firmware 5 times. it was not possible to let the player play 1080p, or 720p or even SD MKV material in 24 Hz.
It only plays in the Hz, that is set in the options.
it isn't possible in Kodi 15.2 & 16.1 and it isn't possible in Himedia MediaPlayer.
No chance, even if there isn't any change, only installing Firmware, (no Changes) only starting Kodi, exit, starting wrapper, exit, setting 24Hz in however 50Hz or 60 Hz and only the set Hz is played, not one time I saw the Q10 Pro play MKVs or AVIs in 24Hz.

Is this a Firmware bug?

Yes, meanwhile, but as I wrote, even absolute clean, without changing language, adding WLan or installing whatever, it is not possible to have the change to 24Hz.
I downloaded the Firmware and the Wrapper  from here in the Forum.
Until now, after five times reinstalling the Firmware, I did NOT one time see 24Hz with the Q10 Pro.
My Q5 does all the 24Hz Auto switches in all MKVs, my  Q10 Pro not.
I can switch it On/Off in the System Options, or during a movie in the Himedia Mediaplayer, and it always stays on 60 or 50Hz.
No changes whe switching to 24Hz.

BTW
Too with the Firmware from here the Google  Store crashes, as soon as I begin to write anything, and latest after the fifth letter it crashes resp. ends to the desktop. Only installing the newest Google play Store solved this problem.

May I ask futeko directly:

Is there an Auto frame switching bug in the current Firmware?

Please be honest. ;)

There is no '24p switching in MKV' bug.

We've shipped a large number of Q10 Pro and 24p switching is a core feature. If it didn't work then you would be seeing reports/complaints all over this forum.

How have you got the Q10 Pro connected to your TV / projector?

Same, as the Q5 4K 3D, I disconnected the Q5 and connected the Q10 Pro.

Q10 Pro OUT - HDMI Cable - Yamaha RX-677 IN - Passthrough - Yamaha RX-677 OUT - HDMI Cable - Sony Bravia 50" IN

This worked with Q5 Autoframe Switching 50/60/24Hz, and the same constellation does not work with Q10 PRo.
With the Q10 Pro there is absolutely no frameswitching. It only works the Hz, that are set in the System Options of the Box.
Do I set them to 50Hz it always is 50Hz (but stuttering)
Do I set them to 60Hz it always is 60Hz (no stuttering)

Absolutely no frame switching.

there aren't any issues about "24Hz Auto switches":

1080p 23,976

4k 23,976

Do you have try to connect q10 pro to -> Sony Bravia, without Yamaha RX-677?

Are you using the cable from the Q10 Pro box between Q10 Pro and Yamaha?

First time I started the Q10 Pro yes, but I had stuttering, why I then took the one, that I used for the Q5 4K 3D.
Tonight I will try again the one from Q10 Pro.

For clarity, when you test, please use the following samples from the Kodi samples page.

It will allow other users (and us) to test and compare.

http://kodi.wiki/view/Samples

Section 4.

1. H.264 1080p/23.976 (in MKV)
2. H.264 1080p/24.000 (in MKV)
10. VC-1 1080p/23.976 (in MKV w/TrueHD 5.1 audio)
11. VC-1 1080i/29.970 (in MKV w/DTS-HD MA 5.1 audio)

Section 5.

2. 23.976fps (in MP4) (YouTube)

Hi

If you have a USB RF dongle for a keyboard/airmouse installed it may be causing your problem, it did for me.  Remove the dongle reboot the box and do not plug it back in then see if the Q10 Pro switches to 24p.  Bizarrely this was the problem for me, the dongle also screwed up the sound output completely, i.e no sound out at all!

See my post here:
http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=728.0

I still get some mkv 2D movies staying on the TV Hz setting and not switching, but they seem to play not too bad panning shots are just slightly choppy.
All 3D movies switch over to 24p (ISO and mkv SBS), but not all 2D.

Hope this helps
Rod

I was having problems with this as well, but it works after setting HDMI Output to Auto and 1080p24Hz to ON under Settings/Playback. Not sure if I've fiddled with the advanced settings as well, but my default resolution is 1080p/60.

There must be a fault on "alterschwede" side.

Absolutely NO problem here with Switching to 24P material.
Could proove that by pics of my JVC X7000.

1.  Settings > More > Display
- HDMI auto adaption ENABLED

2. Settings > Playback
- 1080P24Hz ENABLED

No reboot to be 1000% sure the settings have been overtaken (check them!!!)

If 24P still does not work...watch out for other devices in the order....AVR for example!
