Thought this firmware was supposed to switch  frame rates?
Suhd 10bit fixed but nothing I play changes from 60 to 24. Am I missing something or does this firmware not switch if 1080p stored as 800 line mkv?

I have the same question - can anyone confirm if auto switching is now working with this firmware?

OR - do we still have to apply the patch?  - thread located here http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=1043.0

Per the Patch instructions, it says at the bottom:   HiMedia 24Hz setting (Settings - Playback) must be set to OFF for best results.

My mistake.  I had settings playback 24hz off :) now I have it on everything I have thrown at it plays correctly.  Really happy I waited and didn't give up on q10 like I almost did.   Happy chappy here :)

Great!  So it worked for you without having to apply the patch - correct?

You tested with and without the wrapper and kodi?

I will be upgrading and testing mine tonight.  :)

I have not played any connect in kodi just via himedia player using wrapper and it all works. Seems they have also sorted the problems with the sides when watching 3d by blacking out x pixels each side

Cool.  Are you playing both 1080p and 2160p with DTS or better, and  playback is good?  I can't wait to get home and test mine!

HiMedia plan on bypassing Android 6 and upgrading to Android 7. They have started development work on this already.

Thanks for your reply. Upgrading to Android 7 Nougat is very good news for me (and I suppose for all users too), because this makes this machine one of the most future-proof in the market. Well done, HiMedia :)

Sounds good.  Just to be clear: does HiMedia plan to provide a Q10 pro firmware based on Android 7 in the future?  If so do you think it will in in calendar year 2016?  Thanks.

Yes. There will be an Android 7 based firmware for Q5/Q10 Pro.

I don't know timescale but will post updates on the forum when I do.

I have to manually change the resolution between 1080p movies and 2160p movies.  When will this be addressed?

I was mixed up with fps and resolution.  I thought the resolution issue had been addressed, but it has not.  If I set Display settings to 2160p, it plays everything at 2160p, even my 1080p movies (upscales it).  If Display settings are set to 1080p, all movies are at that resolution, meaning my 2160p movies are downgraded

If I set the HDMI Auto Adaptation to on (check the box) - it forces everything to 1080p, meaning it won't play my 2160p movies at the correct resolution.

I assume all of us has this same problem - or do I have something configured incorrectly?

I did install the auto frame rate patch, which may help with frame  rates, but did nothing about the resolution bug.

Thanks for confirming it's a bug.   Number of my movies is not the point!  This was sold as a working 4k player, and we are not there yet.  For your information, there are over 100 4k movies released on blu ray right now, and growing every week.  I'm doing my  best to get all of the good ones and it would be nice to be able to play them without having to manual switch  the resolution.

The box is playing 4k movies great on my box,so it is working well...only it does not switching automatic to that resolution.blu-ray are not 4k resolution movie.UHD 4k blu-ray are 4k movies, and you got to have 4k UHD player for that.there are no rips of that media yet,so i dont know what is it so big problem....i only have 4k samples movies and they are for testing.when i watch 4k i manully switch to 2160p ...it will be fixed for sure.
