The problem with our Q10 firmware package between 16 and 20-NOV was that it contained the Q5 'update.zip'.

When we realised this (thanks pcristi) we feared installing this firmware on a Q10 may brick/damage the device. Hence the sticky topic and our first ever forum announcement.

After talking to Himedia and some testing the situation is not as bad as first feared.

Q5 firmware can be installed on Q10 and will appear to install normally.

The only problem Q10 users who have installed this firmware will encounter is that the USB 3.0 port may function erratically.

So we would recommend installing the proper Q10 firmware.

But the firmware we listed for Q10 from 16 to 20-NOV will not cause any damage.

The new download link will be active in the Q10 3.0.2 firmware thread within the hour (it's uploading).

If it's installed and you have no problem then you shouldn't worry about it.

Did you install the Q10 firmware from the download package we uploaded on Monday?

The problem with the package was that it contained Q5 firmware..

It shouldn't install on a Q10 but if it did then it would brick the Q10. We've gone all-out on the warning / announcement to try and stop people attempting to install it.
