Egreat A5 Max HDD Capacity Supported on USB 3.0 Port
« on: December 11, 2020, 09:12:52 AM »
Hi all guys,
as in the object, being in the moment of buying a new 2,5 inches usb external hard drive to connect to my eGreat A5 usb 3.0 port, i would like to know which in your opinion is the maximum capacity that this mediaplayer supports for autopoweder hard drives on USB 3.0 port. I have read in this forum that 3.0 has 800mA capacity and that is enough to afford, for example, a 4TB usb hard drive. Indeed i have two Maxtor 4TB hdds that works perfectly on my A5. Would you think i could buy now an autopowered 2,5" Seagate usb3 hard drive of 6TB space without having issues connecting it to my usb 3 port? Should i format it in a particular way? (i know my 2 maxtor's are both NTFS and GPT but my windows 10 has set up GPT automatically i think, i don't know how to format specifically in pgt, i m used to format in NTFS and i am done) And what do you think is the max capacity supported on A5's usb 3.0 port for both:

- Usb 2,5" autopowered HDDs?
- Usb 3,5" HDDs with power supply?

Thank you in advance

16 TByte for both but 2.5 inch are available only up to 5 TByte currently I think.

Above 16 Tbyte 512e / AF types are not available anymore most likely.

thank you very much Nice Monkey
i suppose on Amazon i have seen a 6TB 2,5" Seagate, i go find it again and will post the link
meanwhile it's enough  to format in NTFS? after that the drive should be ready to work good once connected to usb 3.0 port?
