What are this improvement? I made it but rely need share this version?
Custom ATV firmware base on v2.0.8 will have a same problems with popup Google Assistant very time when HDMI state are change it .

hi, everybody!

i am from malaysia and have been reading this forum for a year now.
i have been using himedia boxes for >6years now; first one being q5ii non-emmc, latest one being q10pro for just about a year.
thanks for all the great tips, firmwares as well as cautionary notes.

overall, i am happy about himedia boxes and that's why i stick with them over the years.
i do a lot of playback with bdmv, hd audio on my home theater.
kodi, i used to like it a lot in the early days but now, just using it for quasar online streams where i can get dd/dd+ audio which is good.
i do not care about the library or nice thumbnail displays, just like to go straight to play the video with the native player.

i decided to register here today and make this maiden post becos i felt that firmware 2.0.8 is worth a mention - it is good!
i know most people here do not care about the 2.0.8 changelog but himedia has done something marvelous for users in southeast asia.
and i like to acknowledge that.
for years, they did not do it but a major competitor did, but finally it came through:

that was it. with this improvement, i am able to use a very popular app, an online app version of a local iptv provider.
Myk+ is for Vietnam which is great for them now, but it works also for Astrogo in Malaysia - that's what i wanted.
I suspect it also works for similar iptv providers in Thailand and Singapore but pls correct me if i am mistaken.
so, sometimes, it is impt to consider how himedia or any manufacturer for that matter, need to spend their resources on needs arising from different users in different parts of the world.

in summary, kudos to himedia for taking care of users in my part of the world!
and thank you futeko..com for the good work so far that i have benefited greatly from.

this is some of the important improvements for me.
i started to accept Google Assistant  popup issue as an exchange for a beautifull lay out. hope the issue can be resolve in the future:)

I've installed this 2.08 and also the newest 2.08 uploaded, but I played "Black Mirror" TV Series from my Synology NAS, and it is choppy.. like the connection is slow..
I played the same video file with 2.06 previously and they played smooth..

Anything that I miss / did wrong ?

Hi, I plan to roll back from 2.08 to this ATV 2.06.
I tried clean install (with USB & press the reset button), but it is error in the middle of the progress.
What do I need to do ?

Try use USB pen flash max 32GB in NTFS format.

Are still base on  v2.0.6, HimediaVideoPlayer have less problems then on v2.0.8.

Know problems:
- Voice search via Bluetooth remote still not ported.
- Google Assistant TV(Katniss) still popup every time when HDMI state is change it.
Remove via adb shell if not need and use Google Assistant mobile version inside(GoogleApp)
