kodi 17
« on: April 22, 2017, 03:56:59 AM »
Hi

Have recently received  A10 and am really pleased with it, very easy to set up and  no problems with it so far.

I have set up ** and now wondering if I can download kodi 17 version, I would welcome any advice or comments on kodi 17, in particular is the current android suitable for kodi 17.

Many Thanks

You can install standard Kodi 17 and it will run well.

Turn off  Mediacodec (Surface) to get smooth streaming playback. In Kodi, go to settings -> Player -> Videos and set Allow hardware acceleration - Mediacodec (Surface) to OFF (otherwise video streams will stutter)

Would this also work for HiMedia q10 ?

I couldn't play Kodi smoothly for some unknown reason. Having an 100Mb download signal, and an brand new box with just Kodi on it, and xxxxxx repository, it kept lagging.

Yes. I answered in Q10 Pro forum saying so.

No Kodi piracy add-on discussion allowed in this forum, that's why I've blanked out one word in your post.

I installed Kodi 17.1 RC on my A10. Krypton runs without any problems using Video Addons, however, hard drives (internal as well as external) and a USB stick attached to USB 3.0 just are not being recognized at all. They are all there and can be addressed under ALL Files and show up in Vidon XMBC.
Any advice?

Kodi 17 has problems finding the location of attached storage in Android and displaying it in the first dialogue under add videos etc.

From add videos etc, storage can be found under rootfilesystem/mnt/

Thank you, that worked.
But I wouldn't say it's a problem of Kodi 17 finding the drives. I surmise it is rather a problem of the A10 because Kodi 17 installed on my Himedia  Q10  Pro has no problem finding any drives.
