Zidoo X10 / Zidoo X10 F/W 2.1.40 won't play .mkv videos
« on: September 10, 2021, 08:04:23 PM »
I just discovered that the internal Media Player (no Kodi installed) will not play any .mkv videos and has issues even with some .mp4 videos that it never had before.

 Anyone else having these problems??

Why iso's instead of .mp4?? MP4's are more universal among various players when on a BD aren't' they?

Whats the default username? I've tried root & admin w/ a blank password and nothing. I can see the HDD in the Zidoo X10, but I can't log in.

Some of that maybe firmware fixable, but the speed issues may be something else.

Sheesh, I was considering this for a upgrade from the Zidoo X10.

Was that suppose to be "Realbox"?

I wished I had a dollar everytime I read about someone that didn't know. About as many times as ones don'r understand resolution scaling (upconverting 480 to 1080p thinking they are actually watching true 1080p material).  ;)

You realize that your paid subscription will only get you SD (Standard Definition) aka 480 delivery don't you on all of theses non-authorized 'streaming' boxes??

It may seem like it's working, but take a read here first;
http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=3280.0

1. Extract update.zip (using an unzip program like 7zip, winzip etc) from the downloaded zip archive to the root of a FAT32 formatted USB pen drive. (the USB pen drive should contain a single file called 'update.zip'). Note, there is no need to rename anything!
2. Insert the USB pen drive into any USB port of Q10 Pro.
3. With Q10 Pro turned off, use a paper clip or pen to press and hold the the pinhole UPGRADE button on the back of Q10 Pro (next to the power port).
4. While keeping the UPGRADE button pressed, turn on the Q10 Pro.
5. Q10 Pro will showthe Android 7 coloured circle logo.
6. When you see the circle logo you can release the restore button.
7. A progress bar will indicate update progress. Do not turn box off or use the box/remote during update!
8. When update is complete the box will automatically reboot.
9. First boot will take 3-5 minutes. The box will reboot into new firmware. Allow boot to complete.

The oscillating (red-white) power LED may indicate a problem with the power supply. Do you have another 12v supply with the correct coaxial plug you can use?
Are you sure you correctly did the flash procedure, it's easy to make a mistake?

Power down (rear panel switch), wait a minute or more, power load the correct version to a USB memory stick, power up and repeat the flash process (holding down that reset button).

HiMedia Q10 Pro, Q5 Pro / Re: SATA version; which one?

Thanks for answering the question. One would think it would be something newer, given the dates for the four version of version three. But, in this application it'd debatable if it would really matter.

It doesn't to me, I was asked, but I couldn't find anything anywhere.

HiMedia Q10 Pro, Q5 Pro / SATA version; which one?
« on: February 23, 2019, 02:22:06 PM »
I never saw anyone ask this before, what SATA version do these have? V3.3 is the latest that came out in Feb. 2016, this hit the market after that I believe. The previous version 3.2 was introduced 8/13
