Dune HD Realbox 4K / Re: Dune HD Realbox 4K Feedback
« on: October 16, 2022, 12:40:10 PM »
I have a film I really would like to watch, the film starts up with english subs, I want to use my "extern" srt dutch subtitles, how do I configure the Dune to use "extern" srt files????

I have a Dune HD Real Vision 4k, quite happy with it at the moment, couple of questions, is it possible to reduce the RED standby light on the front panel? turning the clock off was quite easy.

My second question is, can I remove some of the templates on the startpage, mine goes straight to Maps, which is okay, but all the rest are in the picture, for example TV, Radio, Android is there a sleeping mode for these? Can they be removed?

greetz,
Steve

HiMedia Q10 Pro, Q5 Pro / Problems with subtitles...........HELP!!
« on: March 22, 2020, 04:54:33 PM »
Where I live I get a good coverage of modern films, sometimes without problems sometimes with. One of my most occuring problems is with EXTERN subtitles, so I download a film and I also have to download the subtitles. Problem is my Q10 won`t or doesn`t recognise that the SRT subtitles are also in the menu, my Dune has no problem with it.
The other way to download here is a film with subtitles already built in (INTERN) or with a menu so that I can choose the subtitle, either way no problem for the Q10.
Is there anyone here who could help me with my EXTERN subtitle problem??

Maelor, got any more ideas for me to try?

thanks Steve

(2) Copy both the movie and srt files to a computer and try playing the video using VLC. Can you load the srt file there?

YES, VLC is no problem, its after when I have put the film on my extern HDD and plug it in the Q10 that the problem starts, film YES subtitles NO, VLC film YES subs YES, thinking of throwing the Q10 out of the window and buying a Dune, never had problems with a Dune!! :'( :'(

I think I know what you mee Maelor, what you say is correct externe ondertitles do have an mkv. file and a srt. file for ondertitles.

Problem is when I start the film, I see no ondertitles so I go into the menu too switch them on, and all I see is under Subtitles: Close!!

I cannot find the srt. file!!

That is also the difference with intern ondertitles they start up automatically with the film.

Maelor, got any more ideas for me to try?

thanks Steve

I have some films and series with extern undertitles and a lot with intern undertitles. My problem is with films and series with extern undertitles I cannot see or find them.

When I play a film or series with intern undertitles they come up automatically when someone speaks.

Is there something wrong with my Q10 or can`t a Q10 play a film or serie with extern undertitles?

Or, is there something wrong with my Q10 setup?

thanks in advance for any help.

Steve,  You must copy the update.zip to the root of a FAT32 formatted USB pen drive. (the USB pen drive should contain a single file called 'update.zip').

I know BUT by using update.zip I get a message saying "NO FILE FOUND" if I remove only "zip" and then install under "update" then I have no probleem

Okay, so I renamed it to UPDATE without ZIP and it loaded straight away.  I saw that the old blue screen around the homepage was gone and now it is black with a couple of more apps, Pandora, ES file systeem.

What I did notice was that Kodi by my stayed at 17.0 and that I updated to 17.6 Krypton thru Google store, so I guess my question is: wasn`t there talk about Kodi 18.0 on this update? Not that its a problem, just that I thought I read it somewhere.

Check on Android if file is not name by mistake update.zip.zip inside of update.zip

I have named it update.zip on my computer and on my USB pen it also shows update.zip

PCHRISTI.............

I just downloaded your update 11/11/2018 to CFW 2.1.0, I changed the name to: update.zip and copyed this to my FAT32 USB pen, then I followed your install instructions to the letter, I got the ring of colours let go of the update button and the ring vanished and the name HIMEDIA came up on my screen then after a few minutes it went to the home menu of my Q10, UPDATE FAILED!!

I checked my device`s info and there was only the Futeko update from yesterday 2.1.0

So, I tried to install thru updates, ticked on USB and got an answer from my Q10...........NO UPDATE FILE!!!! How is that possible? I (hopefully) followed your instructions to the letter and still my (European) HIMEDIA Q10 Pro refuses to except your update.

Any idea`s / tips or tricks?

I've tried to update from ANDROID 7 HMD-2.0.7  to the latest 2.1.0 CFW via rear pin push as well as flashing with the recovery files on usb to the following firmware with no luck at all.  Android logo comes up and then I get the red exclamation mark.
Any idea what is going wrong?

I have exactly the same problem with my Q10, I have managed to install the FW from Futeko but I would like to try out this Custom FW, what is happening and / or what is going wrong / what am I doing wrong?
