futeko MiniMX / Run LibreELEC from microsd card
« on: July 30, 2016, 06:39:14 PM »
With the lack of updates of Openelec, I switched to LibreELEC on my media player. (not a S905)  It has been running well with no problems.

BEWARE I ACCEPT NO RESPONSIBILTY IF THIS BRICKS YOUR DEVICE

If you head over to the LibreELEC forums, https://forum.libreelec.tv/thread-524.html  There is a guy there that has created an image for devices with S905 chips.

I followed the guide & had LibreELEC running on an Android device via the microsd card.

Note, the Android device is very similar to the futeko MiniMX Android, but not bought from Futeko.

While I respect your point of view, & there might be an affect on businesses with market confidence & currency fluctuations.  In my opinion the long term benefits could outweigh the short term losses.
Yes, I am one of the older generation, but I missed out on the referendum in the 1970's. Both Tony Benn & Enoch Powell were correct, the so called economic community was a cover up of the long term objective of a European Super state.
I do not want decisions made by unelected people in Brussels.
This referendum should have been carried out years ago. Brussels had the opportunity to offer David Cameron some concessions but failed.
I believe this is a victory for democracy, & whether you agree with the decision or not, everyone on all sides now needs to get together  to help the process.

My company, Siemens sent all UK staff an email saying business as usual.

I understand, that Android Marshmallow will allow sd cards to be seen as internal storage.  But I assume that this device will not be updated for some time.

Hi, I was just browsing this forum & i noticed your comments about updating Openelec via micro sd card.

I am running Openelec on an Intel Nuc. In the settings, you can check for updates. Or, what I usually do is download the new updated file, copy to the update folder, then the device after a reboot, will see the update, & ask if you want to update.
Doesn't this do the same thing?

I like this. I would also be interested to know if in future this procedure could be implimented on the Q5/Q10 Pro

I had a similar idea, to connect a docking station directly to my Syno DS212j,
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00D1NR9MA?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00 every now & again, the connection would drop out.
After several emails to Inatek, they decided conecting to a NAS was not supported.

I then tried to use it to clone a drive this didn't work, & I sent it back.

If you have mkv files try adding the srt using MKVtoolnix
