cutefix, my rule is that I never completely fill a formatted partition. I am always left with 500MB of free space. The operating system then works more efficiently and lighter on the disk load. Use the entire disk for the movies partition, but, as I wrote, do not fill this formatted partition completely, leave 0.5TB of free space and it will be fine. If you are not actually using the USB ports (especially USB 3.0), you can only replace the power supply with a more powerful one and use the 7200 RPM disk (it will make a lot more noise and heat up). Still, I recommend drives from NAS, 5400 rpm. Greetings :)

Changing the power supply to a more powerful one is not entirely the solution to the problem. In addition to the power supply, on the Q10 pro motherboard, there are also additional power supply systems for individual components (3.5 'SATA drive, USB sockets, processor, etc.). The power of these systems is also important. If the disk draws more power, the motherboard has more loaded elements powering it. It also matters.

I haven't checked it, but if the Q10 pro supports GPT partition tables, I think even a 16TB disk should work. I do not have such a large disk. My drive has a capacity of 3TB.

You write that sometimes all the lights on the panel come on? Maybe there is some invisible conductive dirt on the front panel or its edges causing the lights to light up? Perhaps use a bit of isopropyl alcohol to clean (in an unplugged box) the entire touchscreen front panel and necessarily the edges of the panel (the edges gently with a toothbrush dipped in a little isopropyl alcohol). Greetings.

Sorry :) Polish.
Q10 Pro has a weak power supply. As I wrote, 7,200 rpm drives need significantly more power. For sure nothing will slow you down :)

Q10 Pro ma słaby zasilacz. Jak pisałem, dyski 7200 rpm potrzebuja znacznie wiecej mocy. Na pewno nic Ci nie spowolni,  :)

Hi. A 7200 RPM drive is a bad idea for a Q10 pro. It needs a lot of power to work. The energy-efficient 5,400 RPM GREEN series drives are a better choice. According to the instructions, you can use a maximum of 3.5 inch SATA6 GB disk with GPT partition. The 5400 rpm disc does not slow down and does not blur the playback of movies, I have one and it works perfectly. greetings

Yes It's true what you say, but honestly, only replacing the power socket will give you the long-term result. Contact spraying is only a temporary solution. If the coating on the contacts is already damaged and you need to replace the power socket in the box with a new one. In addition, a solid check under load, the power of the external power supply. The power supply must be stable at 1.6 A / 12V all the time.

 :)
Many thanks for the tip as the bluetooth is now working great.
I use a ethernet cable for the network and did not even have the antenna attached.
Cheers
:) :) :)

Is the wi-fi antenna tightened on the back? Without the antenna, Bluetooth does not work properly. This antenna also works with bluetooth.

Himedia Q10 pro displays light intermittently and stops playback. This stays for around 2 - 5 minutes, and sometimes recur several times. When it stops - I can resume playback.
What is color of light, white or red? Does it also light up the rest of the buttons on the front panel? If the led is red, replace the power supply. If the LED is flashing white, reinstalling the firmware (paper clip method, but, you will lose all saved data in the box flash memory)  may help.

HiMedia Q10 Pro, Q5 Pro / Re: An equalizer for Tidal
« on: November 09, 2020, 07:52:42 PM »
Despite many problems with the firmware, I believe that Himedia Q10 Pro produces quite good sound and no equalizer correction is needed. Especially Tidal, which provides good quality songs.

Remember to always use the migration firmware from Android 5 to 7, or from Android 7 to 5 (everything you need to migrate is here on the forum)  :)
