I received my Zidoo Z9X Pro today from futeko, connected my 8TB HD by USB, and booted up. I’m generally really pleased with: support for multiple file types, access to ripped DVDs via proper menus, picture and sound quality via HDMI > 1080p TV + stereo hi-fi amp + speakers, subtitle access… all that.

I’ve worked out many things over the course of an afternoon, but I’m stuck on a few others. I’d be grateful for a few pointers…

Q1. The paper manual that comes with the unit is, of course, hopeless for anything beyond absolute basics. Is there anything more comprehensive online somewhere? Can anyone offer a link?

AV port:
I have several 3.5mm TRRS -to-x3 RCA AV leads. None of them work in the Zidoo.

Q2. Does Zidoo use a proprietary pin-out configuation for the AV port? If so, what is it? And/or is there a recommended 3.5 mm AV lead on the UK market that is known to work?

Connectivity:
I have multiple Macs of various types, all with wireless and Bluetooth, all on the same local (wireless) network as the Zidoo.
- I cannot get anything to pair reliably via Bluetooth with ‘Realtek Bluetooth’ (the Zidoo), Macs (3m away in the same room) don’t maintain connection. The other way around, the Zidoo “Search[es] for Accessories…” endlessly, finding nothing.
- I’ve enabled AirPlay on the Zidoo, and I can get an iPad to appear as if it’s casting a movie stream to the Zidoo. However, all that reaches the Zidoo is the movie sound. The Zidoo screen shows the correct title in plain text and a generic ‘disc’ icon for ‘AAC 2ch..’ sound, but no moving image.
- From a Mac on the same local network, I cannot  find the Zidoo via the recommended ‘browser>IP address’ method; I just get “unable to connect…” in the browser window.
- Via Zidoo>Media Centre>SMB I can see various Macs by name on the network, but when I try to log on to them I just get ‘incorrect username/password’ warnings. despite entering correct names/passwords.

Q3. Obviously, without basic connectivity I can’t do many other things. Am I missing something fundamental here, maybe to do with exposing the Zidoo correctly to the network, or to Bluetooth?

Home Theatre data scrape:
After an initial data scrape, there are quite a few matching errors within my 800+ media titles, especially with obscure old films that had different titles in different countries, or have been digitally ‘forgotten’ in favour of something else with a similarly-worded title.

Q4. Can data associated with individual titles be manually re-scraped or scrubbed? I mean, one item at a time, to manually tidy up the database? If so.. how do I start?

Browsing:
I prefer to browse my HD via a list, so keep my files named for alphabetical sorting. Media Center shows the HD contents as a file list, but supports only basic scrolling (it takes over 1 min to go down through 800+ titles from A-Z).
In Home Theatre, with Poster View set to the “List” option, you have a list that you can skip down in alphabetical “chunks”, which is great... but then… if you stop at a given title, anywhere, for more than a few seconds the “cursor” (so to speak) jumps back to the top of the list… which is absolutely maddening!

Q5. Is there a setting for Home Theatre (List) that will prevent the inactive ‘cursor’ jumping back to the top of the list?
