Official Firmware
Official firmware is the latest stable firmware. Your box will attempt to auto-update to this firmware if connected to the internet and auto-update enabled:

Alpha Testing Firmware
Alpha firmware is early test firmware used to test new features and fixes. It should not be used in a production box because it is very likely to be non-functional in some ways.

Hello,
I wanted to test the new My collection on my Dune HD Pro Vision 4k Solo, so I have downloaded and installed the new alpha firmware. However, there no changes whatsoever, except the version number in the settings.... Is the alpha 175v updated with the new My Collection GUI? If yes, has anybody an idea, why there so change in my case?Regards

The alpha firmware page does not have the new gui firmware yet.
There is a link to a firmware for real vision with the new gui (and a 30-JUL build date, later than the other alphas) on another thread but I know not where that came from.
I guess we can expect new aphas on the alpha page very soon.

I don't want to sound disrespectful or demanding (which I am not), but is it possible to specify this "soon" more exactly? I am asking, because currently I am testing Dune HD Pro Vision 4k Solo & Zidoo Z10 Pro & I need to make a decision which one to keep. I prefer Dune hardware, but Zidoo software beats Dune currently.

On a Pro Vision 4k Solo, can the F/W be flashed back to a older version?
And, is this the correct flashing procedure for the current 'Solo' version?

yes i should be just a matter of downloading the fw you want providing its the correct one for the machine you have and either via usb or internal mem or hhd select it via file browser and install

For the new GUI/Launcher under development: "dune_firmware_tv175u_220317_0257_r20" has just been made available for all 3 latest generation players:
- Remaining time now for both menu modes using DSF's
- HDD stop on idle configurable
- HDMI-CEC working with an AMP
etc.

This player became for sure the most stable media player around with very few quirks left.

one fixes and breaks another :(

Is there a way to kill this new lay out?
Until now i couldnt find it and when 1 version back to get the old "windows" folder view

No, it wasn't under setup->skin. this don't exist, maybe "appearance"?
But i tried all those and it didn't change back to the old lay-out.
What i did find was the red button on the remote control this change the view back how it was.
But you need todo this for every movie, every folder, every episode.
My server is huge(24TB) and i have thousands of movies that's why i need a simple layout.
I don't think they want you to use the old lay-out anymore (they made a lot of effort to change it).
but we can always go back and forget this "crappy" firmware :-)

Yes you can use "old" but its only for the wallpaper and that not what i ment.
For me its the old folder lay out. no covers, pics or other stuff. i only scrol to the movie and play the movie

BIG issue with this Beta...
No more network access on the Dune (mine is a Pro Vision 4k Solo, but also reported with a Max 4k).
When I clicked on the mapped shortcut, it ask for login/password for network...
Which I never had.
Back to the latest Alpha and everything went back to normal...

also had same problem, you have to set the lan on windows..

SMB was updated both as Server and as Client. Be aware W11 by default doesn't allow anonymous access.
Also SMBv1 is off by default for SMB Server now.

My laptop was upgraded from W10 to W11, sot NO access to any network login/password settings...

That is for using the PC as an SMB Server (=NAS).
The new UID/PWD feature is for the reverse when using the Zidoo as SMB Server (=NAS).

What happend to the subtitles?
Since a few days I'm still allowed to search for subtitles but you cant add them.
It turns itself off.
SOLVED: After a week they solved the issue. Al works now.

become opensubtitles.org VIP member to get subtitles -> osdb.link/vip
The Subtitle addon has stopped again and now you have to pay to get acces.
Opensubtitles.com is still free
Lets hope there will be a Firmware update to fix this.
