You don't have access TO or FROM the Box? If latter, than give the SMB shared folders details manually in Media Center by Shortcuts. If the previous (+latter), than check if the SMB v.1 settings are all checked in in the Windows Features menu on the PC.

Also give fixed ip's to all your devices, including the PC.

If doesn't work, try to connect with another device, like a Smart Phone and see if it woks.

And try with Total Commander to connect with selecting Network and entering the ip address of the Box.

Firewalls can also block sometimes SMB connection, try it with turning them OFF.

Futeko, here are some quotes from Microsoft:

"In Windows 10 Fall Creators Update and Windows Server, version 1709 (RS3) and later versions, the Server Message Block version 1 (SMBv1) network protocol is no longer installed by default. It was superseded by SMBv2 and later protocols starting in 2007. Microsoft publicly deprecated the SMBv1 protocol in 2014."

"To work around this issue, contact the manufacturer of the product that supports only SMBv1, and request a software or firmware update that support SMBv2.02 or a later version."

"SMB1 isn't safe"

"SMBv1 has been withdrawn because it is a security risk!!!"

https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/filecab/2016/09/16/stop-using-smb1/

So why are we expected to switch it back on and use 30 year old, insecure protocols???

Another option would be to set up an NFS share.

Another option would be to set up an NFS share.

Given that Microsoft NFS Client is only available in Windows 10 Pro, what is the recommended NFS client for Windows 10 Home?

Hi,
Have set your Windows Workgroup name in your modem/router, I've noticed that if I don't have it set to the correct name I can't access devices using samba in Windows 10 Home. Once the Workgroup name is inputted in my modem/router I am able to access smb shares on my Himedia Q10Pro & my Synology NAS.

I have also issues with SMB share access on Win7, but no such an option to input the Workgroup name anywhere in my router. I can only set it in the settings for the USB drive shares connected to the router. I guess these are not related. Could you be more detailed in what and where did you set this in your router?

Joker: Check this (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQy6m5NbJWA). Could be same for Win10.

Hi Mount81,
The setting is in the USB drive shares (called File Server in my case), once I had the correct File Server Workgroup inputted I could then see the Q10Pro and my NAS under Network in WIndows 10 File Explorer. I've attached a screen capture of the relevant page from my modem/router.
