Title: How To Know What Model I Have
Post by: CookiePuss on May 05, 2016, 11:55:26 PM
Hi guys. I purchased the Q10 Pro from Amazon. Here is the link http://www.amazon.com/dp/B01EILVHC6/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_2?pf_rd_p=1944687662&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B01DQP5TB0&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=046DAABGC6EHPBF6MV27 (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B01EILVHC6/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_2?pf_rd_p=1944687662&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B01DQP5TB0&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=046DAABGC6EHPBF6MV27)

The seller I picked shipped from Canada. My question is if there is a way to make sure it's legit and what type it is? Meaning not a test box. Also, I'm reading the forum about firmware and it says not to install it on Chinese boxes, only European/International versions. How do I know what I have?

Thank you.

If you have a bunch of Chinese apps, it's the non-English version.

hahaha, I didn't think it would be that easy  :P  I just set up the box and everything looks legit, no Chinese apps although the region was set to China and the virtual keyboard has a Chinese looking button on it--I haven't pressed it yet so maybe it just switches to a Chinese keyboard.

One thing I did notice was the Google Play store locks up whenever I try to search using the virtual keyboard. I can press the up/down keys and view apps but when I try to search after typing the first letter it quits. Took forever trying to find the updated version of Kodi. Any idea why it quits like that?

Update: Never mind, I reset the box and all is well. I'm so happy with this box so far. I had an A300 and all my video files would be OOS, even after using the audio delay feature. Didn't matter if it was local files or streaming--it was so annoying. So far everything is playing perfectly on the Q10 Pro though. Happy days!
